yeah but $499 isn't cheap either.. if they priced the core system at the same as the full 360 then maybe they could harm sales of microsoft's console.. for the reason conzer specified.. some people will just think it's the cheapest and get it, convinced they're getting a huge bargain considering... But seriously if this is their strategy then alienating their fanbase must be one of their main priorities.. haha.
-
wow so nintendork will the "core" ps3 package really not come with HDMI output , or wireless? I think it will have a 20gig hd and the "full" package will come with a 60gig one.. that's still ridiculous.. what on earth could you need all that horsepower for if you weren't outputting in HD resolutions?
-
hahah red steel was not complete in any shape or form.. and VC games were completed years ago.. all they have to do is program, and optimise a versatile emulation program for Wii to run.
-
hahah yeah i just found it i was about to post saying nvm.. here's hoping that was a "Wii Wii" and not a "Oui Oui".
-
where does he say that? I've watched the whole section on DX10 multiple times and don't hear the words Nintendo or Wii once.. could someone pinpoint the exact time in the show that anything relating to the Wii is said or "hinted at"?

what like this? :awesome: http://server3.pictiger.com/img/260482/picture-hosting/11612283160.php dammit image posting not working.. i just posted the link..

the name is the logo freak! i think that's quite a nifty bit of branding actually.. also the way the name transcends cultural and linguistic barriers lends support to the general thinking behind the concept of "Wii" and involving as many people in this potentially amazing experience without being offput by immature one dimensional subject matter and hardware and software clearly marketed at a very limited demographic..

Next EGM to Feature Revolution on Its Cover

dude i think that's exactly what Nintendo intends.. they're playing on gamers natural immature tendencies.. see something that looks and sounds a bit like something else that is a dirty word (of sorts) and you want to know more.. pure genius.. especially in releasing the name at this media sensitive run up to E3 time.. -
whoa I never knew Rockstar were British! that's awesome! I'm not a huge fan of GTA (well none of the 3d one's at any rate) but that's still cool. and Owen yeah i saw that little snippet from the interview and i think it really makes sense to put one in the nunchuck attachment too.. someone said at the time it's like the equivalent of dual analogue and I agree.. true fps dual wielding will also be possible.. aiming both weapons at different things simultaneously.. Halo 3 Wii exclusive anyone? (just joking but im sure we'll get loads of cool FPS's anyway)
-
lol has anyone taken a look at the IGN Rev.. ehem Wii boards? it's overrun with lame posts claiming Nintendo is doomed and making desperate lunges at immature humour generally involving urine..
-
LOL at Matts response!

I want to see dialogue options (not necessarily voice acting, well at least not for Link) so that it really feels like you're in a world with other people rather than people who only ever say one thing (or where any changes are so obviously scripted) maybe a cool AI companion for Link who you can link (eheheh) up with to perform cool combat moves.. who is optionally and at any point in the game playable as a second co-op character (hardly a deal breaker for me as i know Zelda games are supposed to be single player experiences but still would be fun nonetheless) more choices of different weapon (this would purely be aesthetic.. i'm not trying to change it into an rpg but some more rpg elements would enhance the experience IMHO)

I really don't understand this association of gaming with image.. since when has it ever been cool to play video games, whether you're playing GTA:SA or BHA:WHR (that's Barbie Horse Adventures: Wild Horse Rescue to you casuals ) the difference is ultimately marginal. It's not like you brag about how cool and manly your console is to girls is it? The choice of name Nintendo decided to go with will really only matter to your friends (and how badly they can take the Wii out of you) and once they play it trust me their amazingly observant and mature (sarcasm) wee-wee jokes will fade away.. to be replaced by wide-eyed wonder that such immersion and freedom of control in a game could be achieved without their precious HD and 8 processors (or however many Sony have managed to fit inside that hideous George Foreman-esque creation of theirs).

Next EGM to Feature Revolution on Its Cover

Im sure even if the writers know things the public don't they will be witheld by NDA's till E3.. and being on the cover and fully explaining all the stuff we avid forum goers already know will do nothing but increase the hype among casual gamers and gamers who are hesitant to buy into the Wii just yet, till then.. -
yeah and like the person who was talking about a true 1st person lightsabre experience.. isn't Red Steel supposed to involve using a katana as well as guns? imagine wielding both a sword and a gun with both of them allowing you to turn and look up and down? this is too cool once you think about it.. you could keep hacking away at people in front and then swing around with the nunchuck add on and blast away any enemies skulking behind you! this makes sooo much sense now it's got to be the final secret...

christmas present hopefully

the first megaton was created in famitsu mag in japan where they hinted that something huge was going to happen like nintendo buying capcom or something... then it turned out that it was just some naruto game that was coming out only in japan..
-
it seems like alot of developers are or will make a multi platform (360 and ps3) and then an original game for the rev to utilise the controller and whatever other secret functionality the rev might have.. whilst a gimmicky control mechanic.. or using the fhc for something pointless and repetitive is something to be wary of i don't see how this can be anything but good news.. every 3rd party title will be an exclusive! and every fanboy knows that the more 3rd party exclusive's the better right? :P

oooh superbosses? sounds rad.. shame i traded it in for BK..

Revolution win biggest surprise of the year by IGN
vicious77 replied to Mundi's topic in Nintendo Gaming
not having played god of war i can't really judge but it did look pretty amazing from the video review.. but nowhere near as artful and atmospheric as resi 4 or as groundbreaking in it's own specific genre.. -
i saw that omgwtfbbq! one and burst into laughter.. had to show it to all my gaming friends.. all of these are funny though..
-
wow that interview made me all excited about the rev again! like last e3 pre thursdayton (or rather thursdayflop) excited! which brings me back to the point i was going to make.. perhaps nintendo and other 3rd party developers are more than happy for devs to make these blogs as to be honest they don't really give away much but still keep people interested and are terrific hype machines... as well as being a good source of inspired gaming ideas from the hardcore gamers that read and comment on every single blog entry.. I'm not saying they're all real, even the guy who made the nintendo ON video owned up and admitted that it was just what he wanted to see.. but this kind of thing has definitely been done before and undoubtedly will be done again as it must be clear to nintendo just how excited board posters are about the rev.

A Nintendo official talks about the power of rev

besides is remapping a controller that hard to do? isn't it just a case of changing the nput command for each action in the game from say "X" to.. "forward jabbing motion of the FHC".. it's probably much harder than i'm making out but really i bet there's harder things when it comes to porting a game than simply changing what user input command does what.. -
wow 100+ that's what it said on the back of the box guaranteed although i finished it in 61 hours or so. it was still one of the best games i ever bought for my cube though and I loved it from start to finish. I wish they'd put more anime style cut scenes in though as they really brought it to life in the rare occassions they did use them. Also the final boss was surprisingly easy I thought... I never managed to get the whole co-op thing working but i heard it does and sounds fun, although hardly essential as it is really intended as a single player experience.. i would definitely recommend people who dont have it and own a cube go out and buy it!
