  1. Wow what a brilliant OP, cheers guys! My brothers wedding tomorrow, me, him and the two best men are all big Nintendo gamers, planning on a bit of Mario Kart 3DS before the ceremony, we spent all yesterday trying to convince him it still wasn't too late to push it back a week so we can all do some Monster Hunting together before and after it! (And probably during knowing us, my brother wanted to have a Wii U/ 3DS section to the reception, apparently vetoed...)
  2. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (March 22nd)

Christ, I can't defeat the Plesioth on the 3DS version for the life of me
  3. Lego City: Undercover

IGN wade in with a 8.0, fairly solid as was expecting them to slate it, sounds like this is going to be well worth a punt!
  4. 3DS eShop Thread

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/03/zelda_game_boy_color_oracle_duo_heading_to_western_3ds_eshops_before_summer Well this is welcome news! Before Summer sounds promising, to be honest quite suprised they don't just release these either 22nd or 29th March, really stretch our wallets to the limit!! That link couldn't have made it less clear, about oracle of ages/seasons release dates
  5. Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Oh yep good point, just went searching and found it in other consoles thread...In my defense I was concerned about the Wii U'ness, or lack there of, of the game! Also there is no alternate timeline, whatever happened, happened...
  6. Splinter Cell: Blacklist

http://videogames.virginmedia.com/news/splinter_cell_blacklist_collectors_editions_detailed_2.html Special editions / Collector editions announced, but still no Wii U logo anywhere to be seen The way Watch_dogs was announced had hoped that perhaps it may just slip out this was coming to Wii U, really hope so!
  7. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (March 22nd)

HA! I feel like I've seen a different side to you Dazzy, a more innocent, nubile..ahem! :p Same boat though as you and Blade, I really plan to use 3DS to do my single player work, however if there are a few of us newbies on here, maybe we could all team up and make a cluster fuck of a quest a few times, ease us in gently ( back to the Mills and Boon...), I'm still sore from playing COD against people on here and getting told off, keen to make a good impression with Monster Hunter!
  8. Need For Speed Most Wanted U

Ruddy bloody tempted by this, if I do means will be buying MH3U on both systems, luigi's mansion...and either this or Lego. Who am I kidding, this and Lego. In the space of a week! If the online is supposed to be quality will be all over it
  9. Darksiders II

Hmm well difficult to put my finger on it, just didn't enjoy it straight off the bat, found the gameplay a bit uninspiring...however to be fair to the game I really didn't give it much of a chance, I borrowed a copy of Skyward Sword soon after this came through so picked that back up again which took over. Coupled with my desire to pick up both MH3U versions, I thought it best to trade in as will never get to play it and need the money. So making a profit on it sealed the deal! Would be interested to hear though what you make of it when it does arrive, and if I made a bit of a mistake being so hasty with the trade in
  10. Darksiders II

I received mine from Zavvi about 7 days after they told me it was shipped, so guess they are just a bit erratic! Also if anyone is in a similar position to me, I really didn't get on with the game at all, so decided to trade it in at GAME, paid £14.99 or whatever it was on Zavvi, got £19 trade in value for it! £22.50 with some incentive they are running when you pre order a game.
  11. Football Season 2012/2013

Taken from BBC sport website: "A man has apologised to Nottinghamshire Police for calling 999 and asking for referee Cuneyt Cakir to be arrested after last night's Champions League clash between Manchester United and Real Madrid." Bit of banter!
  12. Your Greatest Gaming Achievement?!

In the days before online leaderboards, that scrap of paper in Link's tree house in OOT was the barometer of your gaming ability at my school. So when the fishing guy refused to put my Loach in the tank after telling me how much it weighed I was livid! Could never get 2000 on the Gerudo archery until replaying it on the Gamecube WW bundle though!
  13. Your Greatest Gaming Achievement?!

Catching the Hylian Loach on OOT as a child with no idea what a Hylian Loach was at the time. Was a good 15 minute tug of war with the blighter, thinking I had a real lunker on my hands, finding out it was this strange fish, only to realise after I had done accidentally what usually requires being old and a sinking lure! Didn't have the technology or the nous to take any photographic evidence, but I remember it as clear as day!
  14. Splash or Crash! (eShop)

That mutagen stone is an utter beast, managed 59.73 secs with the stone, but cannot control the mutagen, barely got past the first load of doughnuts before crashing! Looking forward to another go tomorrow morning Love the music as well, especially the menu tunes, very relaxing/animal crossing-y I think
  15. Splash or Crash! (eShop)

Anyone else picked this up? Quite a fun little game, especially for the price!
  16. Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag

If no one else is going to claim this, could do with a tenner for the weekend... I thought the ship parts of ACIII were fun if not spectacular, so not sure my thoughts on this, though I imagine will end up picking this up. What I do hope is that this is a sign that new third party offerings will be on Wii U as standard. I know we missed out on Tomb Raider and probably GTA V as well, as they seemed to be so far in development it was more trouble to port it across (although I will grant you that didn't stop Ubisoft or Activision with ACIII/BO2...) but still, what with Criterion taking time to develop a proper NFS Wii U experience, fingers crossed future big releases will find their way on to Wii U and we won't be suprised! Wishful thinking maybe...

  18. General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

Unless perhaps they are literally following their 3DS model in everyway, have realised that the early sales are going to be rubbish, will announce mario U 3D, mario kart U at e3 with release dates this year, bottle neck pikmin 3 until late this year and just attempt to go head to head with PS4 and at least reclaim the japanese market with killer games this Christmas. Kamikaze from Nintendo, but it worked for 3DS...! Oh yeah and a price cut too, just to be safe :p
  19. General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

I am actually very happy with my Wii U and personally have enough games etc etc, but from afar it looks like Nintendo have treated Japan either with disdain or arrogance as far as Wii U is concerned; launched it later than everywhere else, barely supported it with any games, and am I right in thinking Nintendoland doesn't come bundled with it? Considering it's their home turf, they are treating Japan like they used to treat us back in the days of THE!
  20. Your Favourite Game OF ALL TIME (up to this point)

Super Mario 64! My mate invited me over as his dad as picked up a 64 on launch, and him letting me have a go at racing koopa the quick on Bob-omb Battlefield blew my young mind! I had become quite jaded with gaming since my mega drive had lost its lustre, but Mazza got me back into gaming and haven't left it since I completed that game 5 times in a row without playing another game when I finally picked up a 64 two years later, got it on launch on the Wii VC (was like another new game to go along with Zelda TP) and would play that game for the rest of my gaming life if I had to pick one.
  21. Lego City: Undercover

People with skills far better than mine can hopefully embed the video on here, but the second webisode is online, centring on Chief Dunby! This game looks an utter riot http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/47236/new-lego-city-undercover-trailer-meet-chief-dunby/
  22. Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Robin Williams, Cuba Gooding Jr, Sam Fisher...What dreams may come.
  23. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (March 22nd)

I feel quite out of my depth in the demo, and I love it! Actually looking forward to putting in the man hours so I get to the point where a Lagombi isn't causing me to faint, said to my mate last night I don't want to see him until we have put 100 hours each into it! Hoping to get involved in the community on here too, I can imagine it's great fun trying to slay some if the bigger beasts as part of a team. Or even just taking out Lagombi would be a start...
  24. Wii U eShop Thread

ah, something things never change however old they get!
  25. PlayStation 4 Console Discussion

Sorry, I meant 'do' as in what features they have specific to the console experience (I guess until we hear what xbox 720 has going on) but like the spectate features, sharing videos etc, which are specific for the ps4, but not a gaming necessity, so feasibly you could 'port' Killzone, but it wouldn't have those features, likewise PS4 wouldn't have Miiverse intergration. I was mainly an Xbox 360 man last gen, although had a Wii at the start and end of the life cycles, so can't comment too much on what was or wasn't available, but it seemed to me it was more a case of tailoring the controls to Wii rather than anything else. Obviously it was no where near as powerful as Xbox 360 or PS3, but something like Goldeneye 007 for example showed it could 'do' the same games. And you could argue that the xbox 360 and PS3 couldn't do what Wii could with motion control gaming (until the created their own add on's ). Anyway I guess it comes down to personal preference, I prefer to see what features a console can give me, rather than how powerful it is. After all I still enjoy Virtual Console games and loved Spelunky on XBLA!
