  1. Removing a film from your camera and transferring it to a container for developing while in complete darkness is pretty damn tricky, not to mention very amusing the first time you try it.

Ah yes, the amount of times you could hear someone say "fuck" in that room was amusing. If you wanna make it more fun, get four or five people to do it all at the same time. Oh the fun.

  2. Afraid to say it but...you're wrong. Mad World beat The Darkness - Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End) to number 1. I know this because I am a massive Darkness fan :santa:. Michelle McManus, Pop Idol winner's song All This Time came out the week after xmas and stayed number 1 for four weeks.

No my point was in 2003 everyone's money was on X-Factor, Pop Idol or other crappy reality tv show and they didn't win. Mad World did. So im saying don't presume X-Factor people are going to win just cause its shitty bollocks reality tv nonsense.

  3. And even with gloves your hand smell all day, all day I tell you!

And not to poo-poo Dabooker's arguement but its not like you sit there every lesson learning how to take photos, its mostly practical. Had less than 7 hours pratical in my whole 350ish hours of photography. Just gives you a set time (be that a good or bad thing is dependant on how you prefer to work) to do some photography.

  4. That Crazy Frog thing is still going? That's one thing I don't miss being over here....

    The game is out soon!

But yeah, not good. Saw McFly's vid, quite cool and arty in a weird nightmarish way. My non-money is on ...Westlife. The X-Factor people didn't win it two years ago (beat by Mad World) so it could happen. As much as I dont like Westlife you know, can never control this shit.

  5. I did art and media. I felt I learnt more in media because it also goes into the theory and I like the theory a lot. Whereas art I agree is something that can't really be taught. Fair enough perhaps having one or two lessons a week at the start to learn techniques for watercolours, screen printing etc but after you get a proper project you should be able to come and please as you want as long as the teacher keeps an eye to make sure you'll do the work.

  6. Do you mean you are doing your AS levels or GCSEs?

Anyway over my two years of Photography I had mixed feelings. The times when a photo just wont develop, or you ruin a film or something similar you get angry and upset and if you're like me don't want to go back in the dark room for ages. I also lost my enthusiasm for it toward the end of AS and got an okay - but not as good as i could have gotten - grade. Then in the second year it just clicked really, I knew what I had to do to get a good grade and it all worked.

Plus the Photography A-level exam was one of the best fortnights of college. Come and go as you please, can listen to music and chat (as long as its not for hours), eat and drink (as long as you're careful). Plus my photography teacher is the best teacher I've ever had.

Its like anything you study in depth, it weens off your passion a bit. Plus be warned, its damn expensive. In my A level exam project I don't want to think how much I spent. It was £80 on processing alone. So £150-200 overall.

  7. If the animal isn't killed for you, it's gonna get killed for someone else. Wether you eat meat or not, the same amount of animals is going to die. It's pure statistical logic of the capitalistic postmodern society i tells ya.

Oh my god, I'm cured, I want the meat!

    Feeling sarcy and Tara-inspired.

At least im being proactive, if the "one person can't make a difference" lethargic attitude was used by the likes of Martin Luther the world would be a different place. Obviously im not as active as MLK but just the thinking that "it's going to happen anyway" is silly. Im sure nobody becomes vegetarian because they think its going to stop animals being killed, but rather they do not wish to be the cause of it.

  8. "Man can't live by chips alone" </Max from Max and Paddy>

Why did you become a veggie?

On topic - I like my steaks medium, then I slap some salt. splash of vinegar and some ketchup on it. I am a ketchup-aholic, I can't get enough of the stuff.

This man doesn't live on chips alone, he has a rounded(ish) diet. And I became a veggie because I didn't eat many meat before I "changed", only really burgers. Plus the whole killing of animals, I heart animals.

  9. So far I've asked for/got:

    £33 PS2

    The Movies

    Rufus Wainwright - Want

    Sarah McLachlan - Surfacing

Desperate Housewives S1 (although my mom hasn't paid me back for that)

Think thats it so far, might ask for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex S1 Boxset. Oh and im getting my PC back, great xmas pressie.

  10. I've heard them say sw.png on TV before. Who cares. It's just a word, infact, there was an entire show dedicated to swearing on TV once, and they said sw.png more than once, get over it, kids.

Yeah it happens, happens on SATC a fair bit but thats cable after 10 so different things. Although I prefer "C U Next Tuesday", its a silly euphamism, or censoring. Damn semantics.

And yes, lets get over it.
