Really hope Chelsea play this way against us on Thursday - they've been frankly rubbish. Still fancy a 2-0 scoreline. Edit: fully deserved point for Wigan. Chelsea were not at the races.

It's less the midweek aspect and more the fact there's so many games to watch. They're also easy games to get tickets for, for someone like me who has a membership but not a season ticket.

Reddit videos is part of my daily website routine. Such an easy way to find the best of the web.

Best thing about Christmas? Midweek Premier League football. Love it.

Bit of an obvious idea for a thread I know, but I thought it'd be interesting nonetheless. By saying 'highlights of the year', I'm more interested in the experiences that have defined your year the most, not their year of origin (your picks could be classics). I'll get the ball rolling (feel free to add your genres - comics, plays or whatever). Album of the Year: The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds I've just recently finished reading Brian Wilson's "searingly candid" autobiography, which is what makes this album all the more astounding and affecting for me. The fact that the trademark Beach Boys sound is so hauntingly incongruous to Brian's truly horrific childhood is truly testament to the character of the man. It's a sublime album; this is songwriting at its best. Single of the Year: Howlin Wolf - Smokestack Lightnin' Still one of my favourite Blues songs. Such raw power in the vocal. It brought a massive smile to my face when they opened Misfits season 2 episode 2 with the song. Film of the Year: Pulp Fiction Ridiculously, I hadn't seen the film until earlier this year at university. Instantly fell in love with it. Travolta has surely never been better. Game of the Year: The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Honestly one of the best games I've ever played. Never have I played in a game world as well-realised, believable and rich with adventure than that of Skyrim. It's one of those games where you set out to achieve something and instantly forget what that was, as you get side-tracked again and again, pulled by the allure of the unknown. So much of my time spent playing Skyrim is spent 'in that moment', where you lose all track of time and just become immersed in the fantasy of it all. Book of the Year: Stephen King - The Long Walk A brilliantly harrowing tale of the inexorable trudge of 100 boys through adolescence and ultimately, to to their death. This book introduced me to Stephen King, which I'm extremely grateful for.

Not funny per say, but amazing.

Really?

Ramar, I was hoping you could tell me why was there a 5 minute segment on SkySports about the Arsenal PA calling out the full names of the players against Everton? I literally have no clue as to why it constituted news. :S http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16165953.stm That's not fun at all. Feel sorry for the bloke.
-
You hope more like :P. Not exactly fearing Sunderland at home tbh!
-
Purely to help my fantasy team, I want a 6-6 scoreline with Mata and Sturridge getting a hat-trick each. Also: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/olympic-cyclist-chris-hoy-receives-abuse-from-tottenham-fans-6276005.html HAHA.

On another note, Man City v Chelsea tonight! Predos?
-
I think it's fair enough complaining a few hours after the match considering how shocking the refereeing was. As if all of you wouldn't have been doing the same. Anyway, over it now. Sunderland at home next. Travelling up to the Lane for this one so I'm hoping we smaaaaaash 'em. Then Chelsea at home the following week. Huge game.

No, I'm just saying even if that Modric goal wasn't a pen, we should had a shitload of other decisions our way, that would've allowed us to at least be on level terms.
-
Crouch's handball negates that debatable penalty. Finally cooled off. C'est la vie! 2 points ahead of the scum still, with a game in hand. Coys.
-
I do realise that. The point being that the ref did nothing about it. Sorry, also forgot Woody should have been off. Will take me a while to cool down. :P
-
He was off-form today. Modric ran the show in the second-half though. One thing that really ires me: how can it be alright that Stoke take 30-odd seconds with each long throw-in? It's disgraceful. No penalty given for blatant foul; no penalty for handball on the line (x2); adebayor not offside for goal; no handball given on crouch when they scored. Disgusted doesn't do it justice. Harsh red card. Also, two of the clearest corners ever not given.
-
Apoplectic. Ref had a fucking 'mare. Should not have lost that match based on the second half performance. ARGHHHHH!
-
Telegraph predicted 2-1; Lawro 1-1, and others I can't remember. Shocking game so far. We just can't handle the long throw from Shotton. One thing I have to say though, Stoke's football is, well, shit to watch. Spurs to win 4-2.
-
Haven't read a single preview of the Stoke v Spurs game that puts us as winners. Hoping we can pull out a huge win.
-
To be fair, United don't need the distractions of The Carling Cup, Fa Cup, and Champions League whilst they are challenging for 2nd place in The Premier League...
-
It's a compliment that they should feel threatened really.
-
Dude, I wouldn't go that far. Different players.
-
WWWWDWWWWWW. Nuff said.

He's unequivocally a diving muppet. If you can't see that you're frankly delusional (harsh but true). I don't even understand how you can argue otherwise. Coincidentally, I had a haircut yesterday by a lifelong liverpool season ticket holder, and he was expressing his disgust at how often Suarez dives to the floor from the faintest touch. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion/columnists/mark-lawrenson/Mark-Lawrenson-column-Luis-Suarez-s-diving-is-wrecking-his-Liverpool-reputation-article817509.html
