gj15987 Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 When Nintendo say there's the posibility of adding new items/levels/weapons in a game using WiiConnect24 where does all this get stored? I assume on the flash memory? But wouldn't that limit a game to the amount of add ons it can have? What if some 3rd party bring out a huge update for a game...wouldn't it take up a fat chunk of space?
Tellyn Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I think it adds to the original game file, which shouldn't take up a lot of memory.
Colin Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 It would get stored on the flash memory or any SD cards you may have. /thread.
Jasper Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 But what he means is that an entire new Zelda dungeon would take up more spaace than three blocks. I think you can better get yourselves a 2 Gb SD-card to be sure. I think if it can't be downloaded, you will get a message in your message board on Wii. I think Nintendo has thought of it, it would be stupid if they forgot...

Charlie Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 DVDs can store about 8.4 GB, so I doubt a dungeon will be 2GB...
Emasher Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 well the best way to save files is transfering them to sd when your done and when you want to play them trasfer them to flash.
Jasper Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I don't think the whole of Zelda:TP takes up more than 2Gb. But even so, your 512 Megs will still be filled quit quickly if your starting to download. The internal memory will soon just be too small... AND don't forget that although DVD's are 8.7 Gb, the data they place on it is much larger. A two-hours DVD-film with menu's and all would - in uncompressed size - take up as much as 48 to 50 Gb! And the same compression methods cannot be manufactured with 'just' data over web. It could be taking up a lot of space.
Librarian Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 whats the problem? havent nintendo stated that you can always erase downloaded games and then download them again for free if you wish? Or is it some collecting thing with people who want nintendos entire backcatalouge on one SD card?
river_rage Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 You can't copy the games to sd cards. Only save files
