Nintendork Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 It's as silly as it sounds. An old PlayStation game I enjoyed is coming to the Wii courtesy of Artdink. Graphically it looks pretty poor, this is the only screenshot released so far.. it could be a budget title. It might well be the next Katamari though. I remember it being a bit of a laugh on the demo disc. When Iwata speaks of the indie games that are low budget.. I see this as the first wave. Artdink has never had much success. Going downtown can sometimes mean going to the part of the city where there's more nightlife. Well, in this screenshot we got from the Wii Conference, going to town would mean meeting the weirdest beings ever. The screenshot is from a game called Mr. D. Goes to Town or Machikuru Domino. What town we're not sure as there's still no info available anywhere. So far the only legitimate info we have is that it's being developed by Red Entertainment and published by Mastiff for the Wii, and that it looks like a Domino-related game. While looking for an angle to this screenshot, we found a site where a commenter said that it resembled PSX's No One Can Stop Mr. Domino. It's a puzzle game where players control five anthropomorphic dominoes, placing some dominoes in rows that will fall, while avoiding obstacles and working under a time limit. It had pretty wacky characters. Could it be that Mr. D is actually Mr. Domino? Is this a sequel? Hmmmm... questions that only time will tell. We'll update you with info related to this game as soon as we get it.
Zero Seven Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 See, this is why im going to love games like this (mr domino), Wii play and wii sports. these are the type of games that fit the mood perfectly if you dont exactly feel like playing the likes of, say... Zelda for example because you have just played a good few hours of it and want something simple and fun. I didnt even know about this mr domino game, cheers for the info Nintendork!
flameboy Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 yeah i'd say about £20, whilst it doesnt look special graphically, it sounds quite playable, there are a couple of secs on footage on it on one of the original wii promo vids... whilst games of the zelda breed are all well and good, we don't all haven time to play epic upon epic something the wii will be good at catering for as we have lots of small playable games.
