Mizuti Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Hi! I had bday two days ago and got a LiteON DVD 16X DVD+R/+RW Drive "With DVD+R DL writing. 8.5 GB capacity." (ask for more info is needed to help me). Now i am trying to copy a DVD, but ofcourse it had that copyblock thing. So, is there anyway for me to get the DVD on to my computer and then add those files (like if i had downloaded them) to the burning process (i use Nero 6)? Thanks! If you dont understand, please tell, and i will write more (little time to do it now). PS: If this is not legal to ask of, please close.
Dieter Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 I think cracking the copyblock is illegal, sorry
Guest Offerman Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 The copy block is not a hardware thing - its a software thing. Its been around for years. It exists on most DVD's and most game CD's and DVD's for the PC. It consists of dead sectors that are normally overlooked. But during Image Making the program attempts to read them, and sees them as bad sectors - so thusly falls over. You used to be able to get a program called DVD X Copy which was an exceptionally powerful DVD copying program - but the company 123 Software, or maybe it was 321 Software. Got shut down, because courts decided it had no purpose as a backup agent and only promoted fraud. If your lucky you could BitTorrent it and see if you can find it. Called DVD X Copy. If you can't find that then its unlikely you will be able to copy DVD's. I used to use that program until its demise, and I've given up copying video DVD's anywho these days.
Mr_Odwin Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Use DVDFAb decrypter, the free version and it'll rip the disc to your hard drive. You can then use DVD Shrink to resize it to a single layer DVD if you want. Use Nero to burn resultant files to a dvd disc. make sure you get the right iso mode or use a wizrd to guide you. No need to recode the video files either.
