AshMat Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Ok, so my D: drive is in the list on My Computer, but my other CD Rom has totally dissapeared from my computer altogether, how do i get it back? (Fyi, i have already been to add new hardware)
Bogbas Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 A bit more specifics would help. have you recently done anything to the drives? But to see if the computer detects it press delete (or some other key it suggests) on boot and go see if the bios detects the drives correctly. And add new hardware won't work.
Guest Jordan Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Control Panel > Administrative tools > computer management > Under Storage select Disk Management. You'll now see which HDD's are on your computer... give us a print screen if possible.] EDIT: Its a CD-Rom >_>. Just look under removeable storage rather than disk management.
Bogbas Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Take the cd out and reboot. <--known working solution. If it doesn't open shutdown pc and insert a pin into a small hole in front of the drive. It should open the drive. Then pull the tray out, remove cd and start up the PC
Bogbas Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Then I suggest you do what Jordan said and if it shows nothing go to the bios to see if the drive is being detected at all.
AshMat Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 I already have, it's not there. Also, the drive isn't opening. Or doing anything..
Sanchez Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 It got unplugged somehow, it isn't getting power for whatever reason, or it's buggered then, pick one. Can you open the case and look?
