Sarka
Hullo all! I just got a new camcorder which is fantastic - I was hoping it would magically work with USB, however it doe snot. So I need firewire! However, I know nothing about hardware computery things, I have a Dell Diemention 5000 so quite a standard computer. Would this kinda thing work: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/IEEE-1394-Firewire-PCI-Card-Videostudio8-DV-Cable-A017_W0QQitemZ140023057656QQihZ004QQcategoryZ20333QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem (I will obviously not be buying this as it's from Hong Kong) Or would I need something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIREWIRE-NETWORK-CARD-1394_W0QQitemZ300020457513QQihZ020QQcategoryZ31493QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Any help is helpful :P Thanks! Charlie
Basically, open up your computer (probably just undo some screws at the back) and check if you have any spare PCI ports.
Sarka
Uhh.. is this what you're looking for? It seems to be the only place inside the comp with any space left...

Bogbas
It should work fine. Or if you're planning on upgrading your pc, check that the new motherboard has firewire. Just realised I have 4 separate firewire slots...
