AshMat
I know that a crack file is used for copied games, etc. But i was wondering, what exactly is a crack file, and why do copied games use them? (hoping this thread doesnt get locked)
triforce_keeper
I think you need it for copied downloaded games because you have no disk so they use a crack instead. Im not too sure really.

Guest Jordan
Errr... yeah. I'll answer, but i'll have to lock the thread after. Basically, its what Moria said. Cracking an .exe or a config file allows you to play a game or run an application without its copy protection interfereing. Its getting alot harder with more difficult programs such as "Starforce protection" where you have to tell your computer to physically all optical drives for it to work. Basically, cracking is wrong? :p
