... is worth the money...... It comes to about £380 and I was wondering if a) you had seen them for cheaper or b) if there are better models of the same parts out now? Not a new model just a better version of the same one... If you know what I mean. ^^;;

Board = yes i have that one on AGP its a great board.

CPU = Yes, but if you can go for the "Venice" version as it has a larger cache than that one the "Newcastle". Incedientally, thats my CPU.

Graphics card = i know you didn't ask for this, but dude... go for the 7800GT. Its only abit more expensive and definatly worth it.

AMD (Venice) Athlon 64 3800+

This is the venice one isn't it? O.o

As for the 7800 gt hmmm ebuyer only has it for over £200 with call of duty included as far as I can see... Let me look somewhere else...

Also the reason I put this in gen chitchat is cause I thought this board was closed. o.o

Is this the processor your talking about.... Slower clock speed but more cache...

No no, the one you linked me to was definatly the Newcastle, it had 512kb cache. The Venice is exactly the same chip only its slightly quicker and has more cache.

I should know this, Domstercool can often load levels on Battlefield 2 faster than I can and he has a Venice.

EDIT: Never mind, it seems either they've messed with the original Venice chips or i'm thinking of the 4000+. Either way, the Venice is faster than the Newcastle.
