ndreamer Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 my bet is still on a ppu of sorts, not a dedicated one but ppu extensions actualy built in to the cpu. hopfully the game does come to the wii theres lots in that trailer they could actualy do (gameplay wise) with the wiiremote.
ndreamer Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 well the the gamecube LSI chip was the flipper it had the graphics, sound & a bit of memory it was also the reason why it was so cheap & fast. wii's setup should be similer except a new gpu, more texture memory, updated sound hardware & what other stuff they have made over the last few years.
DCK Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Yeah, NEC's statement is pretty valuable as they're saying they have started making 70% of the vital inner hardware. It doesn't say a thing about multicore or anything though, and I refuse to believe the Wii is multicore, as Nintendo doesn't seem to have spent much money in CPU developement.
GCplaya77 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 well they didn't put Wii on the list of announced systems for it, so we'll see. revo-europe.com/news.php?nid=9067
