Dcubed Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Quote Henk Rogers from The Tetris Company visited our office and discussed the future of Tetris with Mihara and Hirashima. We are thrilled to have had such a wonderful time together! ARIKA is excited to announce the title officially: TETRIS THE GRANDMASTER 4 - ABSOLUTE EYE - This is the latest in the TGM series. The game is planned to be released on Steam by the end of March 2025. Note: Offline-game only. Note: Screenshots are from a work-in-progress build. Quote Some notes from someone who really likes TGM and had previously followed the prototype (I have no actual info just speculating here) -Both Guideline style and TGM style are in, and appear to be differentiated by the color of the Tetrominos in the first two screenshots. -All 4 modes from the 2009/2015 playtests seem to be in. Master is the basic TGM style, Shiranui (translates to unknown fire) could be the games's equivalent to Shirase/Death, Konoha was also present (Big mode equivalent under a 3 minute time limit, perform all clears to gain more time), and Asuka might be the new iteration of Kamui (unknown in the playtests, but an earlier version discovered in TGM3's files might make it a 5 minute time attack). In addition, Marathon has been added, seemingly following traditional guideline Tetris Marathon rules (clear 150 lines) -The backgrounds seem unchanged from the playtest (still unclear if the anime characters cut-ins during Konoha have remained or not). -The game being released on Steam makes me wonder if we'll see Steam releases of other TGM games on Steam. Currently the existing TGM1 and TGM2 ports are only on PS4/Switch (as part of Arcade Archives), and TGM3/Ace are still seemingly MIA. We'll have to see what happens with those games. Currently announced for Steam/PC only, release date due for March 2025. Somehow they've actually managed to outdo themselves and have come up with an even more ridiculous title than Terror Instinct Edited 21 hours ago by Dcubed 1
