Twilight Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Merrick said that Revo will be launched worldwide in shorter time period than DS which means less than 14 weeks. It would be stupid to launch a console in January or February so I assume 2006 release date for Europe. And that´s what NoE says too.
MunKy Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Did they say it, or did you just say it? Elaborate! They said the 14 weeks thing I said the month before PS3 thing. Sorry, should have elaborated. But what better way to show sony for being outdated arrogant idiots? Give people some time with Revo and they wont want to go back. especially to the awful PS pad.

That's quite an interesting point, if the Revolution is released in America and Japan half-way through November and the revolution is confirmed to be released world-wide within 14 weeks, the deadline would be the end of February. Nintendo can not make the same mistakes they made this generation so they probably will not go back on their word. But it wouldn't make sense to release the Revolution in Europe right after the Christmas rush so we could very well see a Revolution here before the end of this year.
knightendo Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 nintendo's own official website is stating 2006 for us, take it as gospel. if they weren't 100% behind that it wouldn't be up on their site for us to see. let's hope that once people get a chance with it, that shops won't shove it into a dark hole somewhere down the back to make way for the george forman grill... ahem, i mean ps3.
Nick Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 I thought Nintendo also "gave their word" that they wouldn't be last out in this generation... yet here we are contemplating a release that's a year after the 360's launch. These are simply targets they are aiming for, which are getting taken too literally. I'm sure all will be revealed at E3. Ahhh, the PS3 is yet to have a confirmed release date. And Nintendo didn't say they wouldn't be last exactly, the quote was more along the lines of "we will launch around the same time as our competitors". Nintendo at the time didn't consider Microsoft a competitor, but rather, had Sony in their sights. Good for them, aim high.
