Kokuga (new shmup from the director of Ikaruga and Gradius 5 ) rated for EU release!

Remember that cool looking card based top down shmup from Grev and Hiroshi Iuchi (director and planner of Ikaruga)? Well! looks like it's coming out over here!

Kokuga uses cards in place of power-ups. You begin a stage with 20 cards to use, and four random cards are displayed on the bottom screen at any given point for you to tap and make use of. Cards can have different offensive and defensive effects.

 

 

I'd imagine that this is an eShop release. Woot! More 3DS goodness!
