Growing up in an artistic family, Erin was already selling her beaded necklaces to schoolmates at the age of nine. “My father is a creative director and sculptor, so I always grew up surrounded by a lot of culture and diversity, which definitely had a big influence on the my aesthetic early on”, says Erin. Erin, who received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Rhode Island School of Design, ahs each piece of jewelry in the collection individually hand cast – utilizing antique finishes that are both distinct and personal. “I design for the woman who is hip and stylish but not trendy, someone who is sophisticated but young at heart,” says Erin. Rather than interpreting the artist’s palette in terms of color, Erin prefers to interpret in terms of metal gradients. Tat2 Designs incorporates an array of vintage mixed metals such as copper, gold and silver plate, as well as wood, glass, pearls, semi precious stones, leather and woven cord. Greek coins, a signature accent that can be seen throughout the Tat2 collection, lend an air of classic charm to the line. “I love the texture and shape of the ancient coins, they never go out of style”, says Erin. Erin is also the creative force behind Briana Erin Jewelry, a line of contemporary fine jewelry that features sterling silver, 18K gold, diamonds, black diamonds and rubies.
