Ike Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Bit of a complicated one this one. Bought a SSD and installed Windows 7 on it. However when I restart (normal boot is fine), it starts making a load of beeps during the POST (although it doesn't if I start mashing keys). Still works fine on my old HDD (which is running Vista). Not sure if it's a driver issue or an issue with the SSD (which runs fine otherwise). Pretty sure I installed Windows 7 on my old HDD before and it ran fine, but that was dual booting with Vista. I think it may possible be to do AHCI, Sony cleverly disabled changing the option in the BIOS so I can't enable it and maybe it's trying to run. Last resort would to be copy my old HDD onto the SSD. What benefits would I lose if I used Vista with the SSD, I know I'll lose the TRIM command. Also, anyone know good imaging software? Tried Norton Ghost to it refuses to install/work. Thoughts?
