It's an MMOFPS for the PC created by Duplex Systems that has had one hell of a rocky past but hopefully an interesting future. The game was planned to have an open beta at the end of 2004 but it was postponed for a few months until Feb 05. This OB phase went on...for 2 whole years. Many other things happened during this time. After the overly long Open Beta phase, DPS acquired a publisher, Ojom, and published the game in retail. Unfortunately, the game shut down after only a few months. Several factors contributed towards the shut down, the fact the developers lost interest, money ran out, players grew disheartened with the game and eventually stopped playing and refused to play the game. However, in November 2008, only 6 or 7 months after shutting down "for good" so that DPS could work on new projects, they announced it was returning. They've got the backing of another company to help with servers and it's all looking very promising. Anyway, I wasted a good 2 or 3 years of my life on this game. I'd try and explain it to you but all I can suggest doing is going to the website and reading/watching some of the limited material they have on their website. The Closed and Open Beta for the relaunch of Face of Mankind, shortened to FoM, is "coming soon", with no set date given. http://www.fomportal.com Anyone interested in giving the game a whirl when it's out? Like I said I sank many hours in to the game, it's ridiculously addictive and to be quite honest I'm almost scared of it coming back out in case I play it too much again. Anyway, yeah! I claimed the colony to be the centre of my player made religion, Dysonism...aptly named the Temple of Dysonism. Some...party. Can't remember what this was about. Finally, one of my favourite screenshots I have, me and 3 friends decided to make a small squad and outfit ourselves with the same armor in the same faction and stuff. It looked kickass, anyway.
