Daniel Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Something i thought would be really simple is turning out to be a bit weird and confusing. I bought a 250GD Seagate FreeAgent External with the intention of filling it full of movies and tv shows and stuff and giving it to my girlfriend to take to uni. Now its arrived and ive put it on my computer and all it wants to do is back stuff up :s When i explore the drive i get this list of files and folders If i just create a new folder there will it get deleted and formatted when my girlfriend installs it on her computer? Or can i delete all these files and remove the software it installed and itll just work like a pen drive? Any help is much appreciated thank you!
Guest Jordan Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 The back up utility just comes with it, feel free to format the drive and use it as you normally would.
Shorty Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Yeah lots of external HDDs come with software on them these days. It's quite annoying, but you can just ignore everything on there by default and drag your stuff on, or as Jordan said, wipe it out.
