Pancake Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 This is a question for the hardcore geeks out there... I just had to re-install Windows, and i now have no sound. The drivers and utilities cd that i got when i bought my computer is redundant now because i recently had to get a new motherboard, etc, and it's essentially a different computer now and my disk is only compatible with my old brand of computer. When i checked under "multimedia audio controller" in Device Manager, it lists the manufacturer as "unknown", so how am i supposed to find an updated driver (i'm assuming that'd fix it but i don't know) if i don't know the manufactuer??
Raining_again Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 You should have gotten a CD with your motherboard. Use it.
Pancake Posted August 23, 2008 Author Posted August 23, 2008 Well i didn't. Edit: Actually i did. Woops. Ignore me i'm stupid.
