Hooking my PC to a 42" LCD HDTV?

From what i have seen i would need a DVI (?) to VGA (?) connection? At least i think thats right. I bought a connector about 3 months ago, one that would go from the PC to the monitor but that does not work for the TV. The PC is a pentium 4 1.6Gh x 2 with i think a 8600 G-force card in it.

Can anyone link me to what i need because theres too many things out there to choose from...

Your best bet is using maplin. You should have a VGA port on the back fo the 8600, if not you will need the following (if your HDTV does not have a DVI connector):

1 x DVI > VGA connector

1 x Long assed VGA cable (depending on how long you need it)

For sound:

1 x long assed 3.5mm audio cable (with 2 male connectors NOT one with 1 male and 1 female)

1 x 3.5mm audio jack to RCA audio (i think thats the right terminalogy, its those white and red audio connectors)

In your normal speaker port.

As for PC to HDMI, yes, but you wouldn't get sound on your graphics card.
