McPhee Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 I moved you're post to a new thread Yogi, it's was gonna get confusing in Sanchez's thread
Sanchez Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 they're going to get similar performance, I would recommend deciding if you would prefer a 17" laptop or a 15". I think the M1530 beats it assuming that the vostro doesn't have dedicated graphics memory.
yogi_bear Posted March 16, 2008 Author Posted March 16, 2008 But would the processor speed and ram have any difference?
Sanchez Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 You're not realistically going to notice a difference in RAM between 2GB and 3GB. Especially if you downgrade to XP. The CPU is a little slower sure, but when playing games on a laptop the GPU is more likely to be the bottleneck.
yogi_bear Posted March 16, 2008 Author Posted March 16, 2008 i dont think im looking to downgrade to XP..so you recommend the XPS?
Sanchez Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Personally, I would choose the 1530 but they're both decent laptops.
yogi_bear Posted March 17, 2008 Author Posted March 17, 2008 well i tried cancelling and the lady said i couldn't as it was a business order:( now im screwed:(
Sanchez Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Don't feel that way, it's still not a bad laptop and should play most games fine, if it doesn't suit you doesn't dell have some sort of short term return policy.
yogi_bear Posted March 17, 2008 Author Posted March 17, 2008 na they say as it is a business order i can't cancel, another problem is that i kinda gave a fake company name to get the laptop so now im getting worried at what dell might do. I just put my normal name not realising it was meant to be a company name. Can anyone give me advice on what to do?
MoogleViper Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Personally I would prefer a 17" to a 15" anyway. It's still a good laptop so don't worry about it.
