Drunken_Squirrel Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Got a new laptop the other day and ive just put Norton on it. When i try to log onto the internet it wont let me, im presuming its because the firewall has blocked it. Can anyone tell me how to unblock it as i cant be arsed searching round as i never seem to find what i need. Thanks in advance.
DaOne Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 I think you need to go into the firewall, then you need to find "Allowed/Disallowed Programs" in there you should allow internet explorer. Sorry if this is really vague, I don't have Norton anymore so I can't really test it.
Drunken_Squirrel Posted September 17, 2005 Author Posted September 17, 2005 That should help. Ill have a proper look around it when i get home. Thanks.
Cube Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 I got notron with my laptop...i uninslalled it in less than a week. I reccommend AVG.
Drunken_Squirrel Posted September 18, 2005 Author Posted September 18, 2005 Still nothing. It says there is no dialling tone when i try to connect. It was working fine before i put this on, and ive heard its hard to take it off aswell. My ISP is AOL btw if that helps. Ive added that to the allowed programs but it still doesnt work.
DaOne Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 hmm.. its not hard to uninstall... if its a firewall and your on dial up then theres usually no need, the xp built in one will do you fine if you get service pack 2.
