Wireless Network Help

Help me people. My stepdad has got himself a laptop [With Vista... urgh, for another time] and a wireless router so he can do business shit sitting in the garden... although he never goes out there anyways.

 

Anyways, to begin with I managed to get a wireless link set up nicely, a few months down the line I attempt to get it back online for him, since I'm taking my PC to uni, which normally took the connection. Thus he can rape wirelessly while I'm gone [i used a cable]

 

However, the problem lies in the network shit saying the settings on my Pc don't match that of the router... and I don't have a bloody clue how to change them, let alone find them.
