Wesley Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Hey guys, I often have my Mac to put itself to sleep after a minute while playing music at night, so my room is nice and dark (I it sounds morbid..). And I've started recording using GarageBand and was disappointed that I can't do the same thing while recording a Real Instrument track (although I wasn't surprised, it makes sense that it doesn't). But I would really like the screen to be blank so I have a nice dark room while playing. Anyone know how I can do this? Is there an option just to completely dim the screen? It's something I miss from Mac: proper monitor controls. Please don't merge this with the Mac thread, because you hardly ever get actual answers in that thread.
KKOB Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I assume it's not a mac laptop then since they have brightness controls on the keyboards. Go to the display control in system preferences and move the slider down to the far left maybe? hmmmm, dunno if that'll work when your in garageband.
Emasher Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 F1 on you keyboard should dim the screen 1 point. If it doesn't try function (fn) F1.
Wesley Posted September 5, 2007 Author Posted September 5, 2007 Even when the brightness in the System Preferences is all the way down it's still not dark enough for me. Also the F1 trick didn't work... :/
Wesley Posted September 5, 2007 Author Posted September 5, 2007 I think I might just put some clothes on it. Lol, thanks for the help anyway guys.
Emasher Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 What type of mac is it, and what generation is it? its harder to help you if we don't know that.
Wesley Posted September 5, 2007 Author Posted September 5, 2007 It's an iMac, the generation before the current ones. Therefore running on Tiger.
