Jackster Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Hey people, just wondering if you've all heard of Microsoft's OOXML? Anyone got any opinions? Personally I don't think it can be called 'open'; I think it was named to confuse people, OOXML cold easily mean 'Open Office XML'; I think it's a broken standard and I think ultimately it won't do anyone anyone except Microsoft any good. If they were really devoted to open standards then they would have just implemented ODF in Office 2007. For more info on this sort of topic: Wikipedia Article on OOXML Wikipedia Article on ODF Wikipedia Article on OpenOffice.org OpenOffice.org Google Docs (a word processor that works in your web browser, supports ODF)
Sanchez Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 All standards should be open and ideally there should only be one of them for most things. Microsoft is being a huge asshole about this.
Twozzok Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I thought you meant Object Orientated XML :V It needs a comma for 'Office('s), Open XML'
