I'd have an original story over a film-tie-in any day :)

The GTA III's were fun (III was sweet, Vice City was still cool, but San Andreas was waaaaaaaaaay to hip-hoppedy to my tastings) and The Godfather felt like a rip-off from the beginning. I mean, damn! Mafia had better graphics than that ffs! Didn't play it on the Wii yet though, but feeling hesitant to do so, as I hated the way they did the voice acting on the pc version...

See there's the difference really, Mafia did have a good story line. But I felt some of the gameplay elements wern't up to todays standards. I still played it all the way to the end, mainly to see what happened. Game play wise it had some features which were better than the GTA's. My main gripe with SA was if you failed on a mission it was a pain in the arse to get back to where you were to retry. Mafia remedied this by giving you a retry option, but this was because it was a linerar game. Each level just happened to take place in a real world. Godfather also has a retry option which benefit's it greatly in my eyes, but it also has an open world with more than one thing to do at a time.

Story for me, kind of takes a back seat for me in these type of games. And as I've never seen the Godfather films the voice acting didn't bother me in the slightest.

Graphically I'd say that Godfather on the Wii and Mafia are quite similar, with in my opinion Godfather having the edge. Even while playing Mafia in the highest resolution and all detail (Man I love playing older PC games), I noticed little things in it like hands being in the same position. Which I havn't noticed in godfather, whether the hands actually move or not I can't tell you. But it hasn't been drawn to my attention.
