triforcemario Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I'm currently repairing a friend's Laptop, which recently has been acting a bit odd. It's been refusing to keep the time, and even when I change the time manually in the BIOs set-up screen, whenever I re-start the PC, it resets again. Also, whenever the Laptop is turned on, instead of Windows XP loading up straight the way, two options appear, either to enter set-up, or enter Windows XP. The system's BIOs is AMIbios.
Caris Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Sounds like the Bios Battery? If not flash it with the latest version.
triforcemario Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 And is there anyway I can actually recharge the Bio's battery or replace it?
triforcemario Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 replace' date=' should just be like a watch battery.[/quote']Oh crap, could be a bit hard, since it's a laptop... Plus, since it's not even mine...
triforcemario Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 In the end, I just thought "f*** it", and found it hidden beneath the Laptop's fan, covered undescritly by a small bit of cloth
