Toad X Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 It's a long-established tradition that Europe (and usually Australia) are often plagued with much later release dates than other regions. Sometimes it's days or weeks, sometimes it's months, sometimes it's Animal Crossing. And in rare cases, it doesn't happen at all (yes, I'm looking at you, Mother/Earthbound and Chrono series'). Recently, however, the situation seems to be improving. I can't think of any DS or Wii games which aren't either already out in Europe or on their way (or at least, haven't officially had an EU release denied for them, leaving open the possibility of an EU release), and most of the DS games seem to be arriving within six months of their US releases - often much less. It definitely seems that the situation is improving drastically. What are your thoughts?
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 It would be much nicer with a simultanious world release. But on the other hand, why should Japan wait for us?
Cube Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 What are your thoughts? Yea, it seems to be improving. 42 All Time Classics, Wario Ware, Kororinpa, Wii Play, Wing Island, Mario Kart 64 (VC) all made it here before America. Wario Ware even made it here before Japan. And Kororinpa and Wing Island hasn't even got a US release date yet. Although, this means the release dates for games are quite varied. Still, the US does get most games before us. Apart from some Wii Launch titles, most games now seem to get here quite soon after America gets it now. (Except for Sony fans, who still can't get hold of a PAL console)
Guest Jordan Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Its fine if you're playing on a Microsoft console, the longest gap of games is usually a week between US and PAL releases these days on the 360... which is obviously fantastic. Wii stuff is improving like Cube said, and when it comes to DS you can always import if you don't fancy waiting for the non-English people in Europe
chillychili Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 I guess they are a little better. I haven't noticed, because I only look at european release dates.
