Wing Commander Saga

A mod team made a standalone version of Wing Commander based on the freespace 2 engine. Currently there's only the tutorial available but it is quite entertaining actually.

I never played the originals but I have got Prophecy for the GBA and absolutely love it.

 

This also feels very atmospheric, lacks some details sometimes but overall a very entertaining game if you want classic Wing Commander feeling again (from what I gathered).

 

It supports joystick, gamepad and mouse inputs but I find myself using the keyboard exclusively. After all the game needs almost all the keys although you won't really have a use for all of them.
