Mokong Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Ok so a few months ago i used DVDShirnk and VirtualDubMod to get some home video off of a DVD+RW so I could do some editing with it for a Youtube video. And it worked fine (after awhile). Now I wanted to try it again, I can get the VOB files of the DVD with Shirnk no problem, but now every time I try to use VirtualDubMod to convert the VOB file to a .avi file it keeps making the picture size in this strange 352x480 size, when i last did this it produced the .avi in the nice (normal) 640x480 size, I've been going through settings for ages trying to figure out where to change it but can't find anything that makes any difference. Anyone here more knowledgable about these things?
Mr_Odwin Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 352x480 is a valid NTSC dvd resolution so your dvd was probably encoded that way, but with a display ratio of 4:3 (different to pixel aspect ratio). Just resize it manually: Video>Filters>add>resize>ok>{choose size (eg. 640x480) & set filter mode to lanczos3}
Mokong Posted December 30, 2006 Author Posted December 30, 2006 Dude, thanks a million, that's brillaint, works fine now
