sensor bar positioning question

I posted this in support a while back, but it got lost in the rush of questions, would really appreciate some advice:

 

I play my games on a portable tv in my bedroom and the remote in my hands would be within 3 feet of it. Can I place the sensor bar behind and above the tv to make it more than 3 feet away so long as the remote can see it? Or does it have to be exactly on top of the tv?

It can be anywhere, but the Wiimote needs to be able to see it.

thanks- so basically so long as you are pointing the remote at the sensor bar, you can place it away from the tv, you just have to specify above or below, right?

Yup, it gives u the option which you prefer, or unless u cant have it in one of those positions
