  1. Switch Accessories

Sorry was having a struggle using Tapatalk. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Orzly-FlexiCase-Duo-Pack-Switch-Joy-Cons/dp/B01N5R8IK9/
  2. Switch Accessories

Anybody using these? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Orzly-FlexiCase-Duo-Pack-Switch-Joy-Cons/ Seems like they might add a bit of bulk underneath which might help me with the hand cramping.
  3. Just killed myself by using an amiibo. The chest landed straight on Link! D'oh!
  4. I am Setsuna

So did anybody pick this up? I've got to admit I'd completely overlooked this game purely because the name didn't sell it to me. I hadn't seen that Square Enix were the publishers until the news popped up on the Switch this morning. At £30 it's cheaper than the PS4 version and currently the same price as the Steam version. Are there any exclusive Switch features?
  5. General Switch Discussion

So I'm on my third day with the Switch. All my original points remain. Zelda is still excellent. But the random slow downs are painful for a brand new system. Hoping that a future Switch OS update allows for swapping between higher resolution or better performance. I'd much rather be playing it at 720p with a smoother framerate. Joy-Cons are painful to use for any long period of time. They're just too short and having the buttons/analogue sticks directly below/above each other doesn't help because your thumb has to bend to use them. I like being able to hold my arms in a more natural position when using them split apart, so that's good, but it's not worth the additional pain in my hands. I think I'm going to have to buy a Pro Controller, that's not how I should feel after a brand new purchase. Oh and playing through Zelda is making me desperate for a new Metroid game. I think it's mainly the lifts as you go down into the shrines!
  6. FAST:Racing Neo

Very glad to hear that they'll be supporting this game moving forward. The lack of friends multiplayer was strange and I was worried that it was related to Nintendo's online services not being fully setup yet. This was my experience when I tried to play this online. Is anybody else having a better time with it?
  7. General Switch Discussion

Which button do I have to press on the controllers to get the Switch to turn on? Thanks for the assist with the controller rearrangement. And I'll likely get use to removing the controllers. It's just a bit awkward at the minute.
  8. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

A delay?! It's not like the release should have come as a surprise to them. That's terrible. Edit: Just now reading that delays are affecting quite a few people. How has this happened?
  9. General Switch Discussion

Got my Switch earlier today. Unfortunately... I'm not impressed. Maybe I shouldn't have hyped myself up for it because it's left me feeling gutted. I'm currently in the phase of trying to decide if it's a rubbish console or an okay handheld. So my problems are below. The Joy-Cons are just too small for a console controller. You may say I should buy a Pro Controller... but I shouldn't have to! I shouldn't feel disappointed when I take a new product out of the box. No analogue triggers I know we were expecting it but now it's in my hands I can see it's definitely digital. Not sure how they'd get some GameCube games to work IF they come to the VC at all. Individual Joy-Cons are barely usable for two player games. Again the size is too small. The button placement is awkward. I don't know how widespread this annoyance will be but: the buttons aren't marked up the same. This makes sense because when they're used by one person they're labelled fine. But when you're playing two player and saying "press A"... It doesn't really work anymore because there is no A on the other controller. When you're playing two player with the individual Joy-Cons, how exactly do you get them back to being a set? I ended up having to reboot the Switch. Why can't I switch the console on from the controllers?! You have to fumble around to press the tiny button on top of the unit which is docked. Getting the controllers off the device is awkward, maybe there's a knack to it, and once docked it becomes even more awkward. This should have occurred to me before I actually got it, but the dock makes it awkward to place in an entertainment area. All my shelves are made for devices which are accessed horizontally, not vertically. I'm actually going to change my setup to accommodate it better during my week off. The OS is sparse in console mode. A single line of icons? Really? That's barely passable on a handheld let alone a console. One glaring issue I have with the eShop is that my eShop credit doesn't seem to be there. I'm linked up to the same NNID. I really want to buy FAST RMX but can't without access to my funds. Update Figured it out (@Phube you might be interested). You have to go here. This shouldn't have to be a manual process though! The device is heavy, I know it's because it has a huge battery. This should have been obvious from the photos before hand, maybe I was taken in by how many times I heard the word premium thrown around, but it doesn't feel like new technology at all. The bezel around the screen is HUGE it makes it feel like an old iPad. I seem to only be able to power it from the official power supply. My USB PD supply just makes the Switch say "use the official power supply" when docked. It charges it fine when undocked. Because I don't want to leave it on a bad note here are the things I like about it so far: The screen is the best screen we've had on a Nintendo device ever. The speakers are actually pretty good. From boot up to start screen is seconds, unlike the Wii U which took ages. I think it's even a little faster than the New 3DS. This is obvious because we've gone to cartridges, but booting a game is rapid. Zelda is looking awesome from what I've seen so far. I have until the 14th off to play it so hopefully I get used to some of the quirks and I've kept away from all the articles for the past 7 days so maybe some of those have answers for my issues with it.
  10. This is one I'll add to the collection eventually but not at the launch price. Like DCubed said above, £25 would have been a much more enticing price.
  11. Nintendo Switch Launch Day

So I ended up going with Amazon for my pre-order. I've got 03-06 booked off work. Items pre-ordered: Grey Switch The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Limited Edition Hori Switch Tough Case There were practically no choices with the cases as most of them, even the licensed ones, tended to put something directly above the screen. The Hori one was one of the few which put a flap in front to protect it. I wish there'd been more games that I wanted but there just wasn't. I'm not going to buy a game just for the sake of it either. So I just picked up Zelda. I didn't pick up a Pro Controller because I couldn't justify having more controllers than games. I do plan to pick one up eventually though.
  12. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Anybody know if the Nintendo Switch version of Lego City Undercover will retain the Nintendo easter eggs? The game was excellent on the Wii U and now it has split screen I think I'm going to have to pick it up again.
  13. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Argh the previews have started to come out! Now I have to stay off the internet for Excitement is growing, as it does pre all Nintendo launches!
  14. What Have You Bought?

Thank you. I'm hoping it's the game rather than the machine because it resets at the same point every time. I'm still contacting the seller though because I paid more to get it with the games. I feel a bit miffed that two out of the four games don't work. I'll have a read through that link and give the suggestions a try.
  15. What Have You Bought?

When trying to play Tomb Raider The Last Revelation it gets to the Sega + Windows CE logo and then reboots. So it gets stuck in a loop. One of the other games I got with it, Dead or Alive 2, just boots to the standard Dreamcast menu. But on looking at it since I've got home from work I can see there's actually a hole near the centre of the disc. So yeah... that's probably never going to work.
  16. What Have You Bought?

I finally bought a Dreamcast from eBay. But I'm having issues with it :-( I don't suppose there is anybody who is well versed in them who could give me a hand. Is there?
  17. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

I don't think I like the Switch advert currently doing the rounds. The advert mentions that Legend of Zelda and the Switch itself are separate purchases but not that the controller you see is a separate purchase too. Then at the end where it says 'with anyone', I know that's general Switch marketing but the game they're advertising is single player...
  18. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Just making my final preparations for the Switch launch today. Nintendo Switch is ordered. The Legend of Zelda is ordered. Case has been chosen. There's not much in the way of choices. A lot of manufacturers seem to have made the silly decision to put games directly above the screen. Release date and the week after booked off work. Sorta feeling like I should have ordered a pro controller or the charging holder but then I'd have more controllers than games for it and that'd be weird. Can't wait!
  19. Star Trek Discovery (2017)

But this is set pre-TOS, isn't it?
  20. Star Trek Masturbatathon

I posted it the Discovery thread too but Happenstance pointed me in the right direction to this thread.
  21. Star Trek Discovery (2017)

We don't have a thread for Star Trek in general but I thought it might be worth mentioning this Deep Space Nine documentary on IndieGoGo. It's got most of the cast involved as well as the showrunner. Unfortunately we're likely to get get stung by import fees for the physical Blu-ray. On the topic of Star Trek Discovery. The below came up today.
  22. Virtual Reality

Just read in a different thread that you have a Pro now. How are you finding the VR using it?
  23. Fire Emblem Heroes (Android/iOS)

This game has hooked me much more than I thought it would. I find myself playing it whenever I get five minutes during the day. I wonder if they ever considered making a 3DS version to go along with the iOS and Android ones.
  24. Black Sabbath tonight so:
  25. Fire Emblem Heroes (Android/iOS)

I'm getting no sound on an iPhone 6S Plus iOS 10.2.1. Anybody else facing this?
