  1. I found the controls annoying, I run and jump towards an enemy and find I cant judge the distance when it is upside down and the direction changes. Most of the time I end up jumping over or just straight up. It might just be that im rubbish!!!
  2. Im finding that SMG is not living up to the massive hype. My impressions after a days play are :- 3D worlds are annoying, jumping on enemys is difficult and control flips direction making Mario difficult to control Levels are a bit too linear, no real exploration involved. Story is a bit weak, no sense of adventure, i.e would have been good to know why all these galaxies exist?? Feels like lots of mini mario level mini games, levels are too quick to complete and a bit samey. Reminds me of super monkey ball (3d worlds and graphical style).
  3. Yeah, I think Prime 1 was probably the most evenly matched of the games. I only really got stuck on the final battle. I see your point regarding Zelda, some bosses were very easy, however I didn't think this spoilt it. I would expect button tappingly difficulty in a shoot em up game, but not in an adventure game. Maybe becuase Metroid is a mixture of both, then those who just like adventure should steer clear. I just get really infuriated when the boss completely stops me in my tracks, I soon get bored of replaying the same parts.
  4. Ok Jordan, looks like you are over enjoying your power as an "Admin". Please also try to treat inexperienced forum users with a little more courtesty next time, its just a forum. Some things that may be obvious to you are not to me. I didn't want to interrupt the current discussion in this thread.
  5. I hope that Metroid Prime 3 is not too hard. I very much like the adventure that the entire metroid series has given however in EVERY game I have played (Fusion, Prime, Echo's) I have found the game to have the same major flaw which is its difficulty. Im currently STILL playing Prime 2 Echo's, im only on 27% after 2 years!! Why?? Because the boss' are just too hard. I find this to really spoil the game and I get soon fed up with having to endlessly retry the boss battles until (usually out of luck) on the 30th attempt I finally defeat them. Also the save point is normally 3 minutes play away from the boss so you have to mundanely go through the same bits each time. Having just defeated the boost gaurdian after 20 odd goes, i was able to really get into the adventure and problem solving, after another hour of excellent gameplay i am now stuck trying to defeat some giant torvus bog creature. So far 10 attempts (even when using the correct method to kill the monster, as found from a walkthrough guide) and still no luck. I find such difficulty a real turn off, and spoils the game. I now cant really be bothered to play this any more. I have given up on Fusion and not played it again because of the same reason which makes a Metroid purchase a bit of a waste of money. As Nintendo are supposed to be making gaming more inclusive I hope they make bosses more easier, maybe on a par with those in RE4 which were far more easier to get past (only 2 or 3 attempts). PS. The moderators on this site are over zealous and ruining open discussion. It seems you can only open a new thread if you have their blessing

  7. That is really odd however it would seem that it will be on Euro-Wii's Maybe it is something to do with licensing, Microsoft got into trouble with providing a built in browser in XP!!! But that got them into more trouble in Europe than the states he he!!
  8. The Wii site does say that SD cards are used to extend the internal memory. However it is very un-nintendo like to make a memory slot that only takes custom shaped cards, I guess that due to the number of larger and cheaper replica memory cards for the cube, it probably didn't make much sense for nintendo to create a custom slot as noone bought the official mem cards. Also, as the Wii has 2 gamecube mem card slots, I wonder if it is possible to transfer cube saves onto the extended SD memory, so you dont have those cards poking out of the top, and also expand the number of saves, as I have always had to cram them onto the tiny card provided with the cube.
  9. I dont know if someone knows what the release delay between Japan, US and Europe was like for N64 and GC consoles compared to the Wii, but as far as I can remember most games releases also seemed to follwo a similar delay, i.e Japan then US then Europe a few months later. As the Wii is pretty much being released within a few weeks for all reagions, can we expect some game releases to also follow a similar release schedule? I know there is the old "Localisation" arguement, but if Wii is region free, it would make sense that they are, otherwise I will be importing from the US!
  10. The video's on the site show menu navigation and it looks pretty slick, though some of the smaller icons could be difficult to select if you are a bit shakey. Isn't the Opera Browser on the internal flash memory? I guess you have to download it as there could be region specific settings or a regualr updated version of the software, which might cause problems if you have to download and re-flash your Wii's Rom to install it.
  11. Hmm, another comedian. Personally I think it is a good feature that will appeal to me. I guess you would only be impressed by a PS3 3D-HD weather report that beamed news into your tiny mind. Features like this appeal to me, and other "touch generation" aged users, dont be so quick to rubbish what other people think.
  12. Apologies Moria, I assumed by his tag that this DemonMike04 was one. My general beef is that, as with most forums, if you say something which is old news or completely obvious to someone else, some nerd who lives eats and breaths the forum has to post a put down posting. Im really excited about the Wii info on Wii.com, and I still cant understand why people are not talking about the features listed on the site, and WHY is this information not on the main site. Im a casual vistor to n-europe, and use it as my main source of Nintendo info. As N-Europe seem to do a news article everytime Miyamoto scratches his arse, I expected HUGE news like this to be on the main site, otherwise I would not have know about these features until I visted a site that did list it. Another Moderator / Forum Nerd stupid post. Would you believe anything I say? Im just excited, give me a break. jeez Of course Im still going to use my pc, but a LOT less. I usally only check a few web sites such as the news and weather and n-europe for updates during an evening. Now I wont need to wait ages for my PC to boot up, and it will be much more convenient as my TV is in the lounge whilst the PC is upstairs. (Now I wait for someone to say "why dont you move your pc downstairs")
  13. I think the XBOX 360 will be appealing at that price, but I think most people will look at the price of the games. Most 360 games are around the £50 mark still, whilst wii will be £10-15 cheaper. I think that parents wanting to buy a console + games for xmas will take this into consideration. Also the way I look at it is that the 360 will be a year old, and still more expensive than the Wii.
  14. Well, as no-one is talking about this in the forum, and nothing has been mentioned on the main site, then excuse me for posting!! I really hate these forum moderators, what a jerk. I had checked the site for an update about news and found nothing. This whole load of information hasn't even been given a mention, for once the best source of exclusive wii info has been from the last website I would expect it on, nintendo itself!
  15. Hi Don't know if you have seen the updated http://www.wii.com site, but there is loads of new info including the user interface, Wii Channels. Im never going to use my pc or teletext again. The web features look excellent, and there is even a messaging function coming soon. I also loved the weather channel! Update, Mii Channel OH MY GOD THIS IS GOING TO BE SOO COOL!!! Take a look ASAP!! Rich
  16. Thats right, so if you go into a shop such as Virgin you will see virtually no nintendo, so the non gamer who wants to buy a game or console will buy a ps2 or xbox. Also if you did want to buy a video game you would go into a game shop and take a look around to see whats on offer, and again you would only see that ps2 and xbox are available. You may even wonder what had happened to that company called nintendo?? Its not everyone that buys games online and it is arrogant to assume that I am some kind of dweeb for not doing so. You also seem to be avoiding my point that like many I dont want to or are unable to buy online due to lack of credit card or internet connection. Not everyone is as tech savvy as you....
  17. Thats right, I have never ordered from gameplay and neither would I want to. Ordering on line is fine if you know what game you want to buy, but its no use if you just want to look for a game that takes your fancy. I am the type of consumer that like to be able to take home on the day of purchase, so a 1 day or two day wait is a long time. I often fancy buying a game over a weekend if I have nothing else to do, the weekend is over by the time any online store can get a game to me!! If you have ever been in a GAME store you will notice that most of the people looking at the GBA section are people under 18, and are usually going to buy a game using saved up cash or pocket money. So online shopping is useless for most nintendo consumers unless they have access to the internet and a payment card. I dont know of anyone under 18 who has a credit card who's parents would allow them to spend in online stores.
  18. I just had a look at the gameplay site and found that this company is in Basingstoke, on Telford Road, which is the same loation a GAME stores head quarters!!! Surely this is GAME under a different mask! if they can provide games on line, why not in store. I dont want the bother of having to order online then wait half a month for the goods to turn up. What good is it to entice new players to nintendo if the only way you can get a good variation of games is via a web site. Remember, Nintendo are supposed to be aiming for the non gamer market. it much more likely that such a consumer may be walking around a store and pick up a game box thats looks interesting to them, and make that purchase. How many non gamers will be searching game only web pages where you have to search to find a game you want??
  19. Hi All Every week I look at the Revo Europe sales figures page for Nintendo and see how DS, GBA and Cube do really well.. So why is it that if I want to go to my local shop and buy a game, I cant. This is my personal experience:- GAME: 1/2 a shelf of game cube, 1 rack of DS and Gameboy GameStation: 1 rack of DS, half a rack of Cube and Gameboy HMV: 1/2 a rack for GBA and DS, 1 row for cube Virgin: limited DS only WHSmith: limited GBA and DS only supermarkets (Tesco,Sainsburys,ASDA) - No nintendo!!! I find that most of the games on display in Game and Gamestation are only the "top 5", and its a dodgy top 5 at that!! How long can King Kong and Metroid echo's stay in the top 5, surely everyone must have these games by now, or just dont want to buy them. Its without saying that every shop that has a tiny Nintendo section, has a massive PS2 and Xbox section! Infact my local GAME store has a bigger PS1 section that GC!!! Whats going on there!!! Games stores only seem to have only crappy old games in stock as well. Surely they must know that street fighter puzzle and barbie are not big sellers, why cant that shelf space be dedicated to the new and best nintendo releases . Whats going to happen when the revolution comes out? I bet there will only be a choice of 5 games of which one will definetly be "atari revolution classics" and another will be "rubbish puzzle nobody want's revolution"! Does anyone know of a store that has an excellent range of new nintendo games???
  20. Hi All Dont know if you have noticed, but each time I go to the technology section of the BBC news site, there is never anything about Nintendo. Take today for example, Ninendo lauch a free wireless gaming service accross europe, and it doesn't even get a mention. Though there is enough space to report on GTA, in the "Sony Box". Notice that the 3rd square picture box always has something about a PS2 game in it!
