  1. Does anyone actually believe The Bard's tales of drunkeness? I probably would, but the fact that he seems to post on here about his latest drunken antics every day leads me to believe that he is just another pre-pubescent teen trying to compensate for his boring, lonely life by seeking attention on an internet forum. ::shrug:

Round here the 17 year olds drink a hell of a lot more than anyone who can actually drink legally, and the pre-teens are putting away more than anyone of my generation could at that age.

  2. you see iv never ordered to them, but the emails they sent seem reassuring. for me aswell its a back up order aswell. ive ordered a copy of street fighter 2 collection for just £5.99 on xbox to see how quickly they despatch and post

I may be barking up the wrong tree, and don't take this the wrong way if I am, but judging by your comments concerning this company and your apparent close proximity to them I'm getting a niggling feeling that you, or someone that you know, may work for them, and that you're possibly doing a bit of sneeky advertising on their part.

  3. I can't believe how many places I had to go into before I got a guranteed launch day pre-order. The consensus seemed to be that the pre-orders are exceeding the expected intial shipments, though they couldn't be certain of exactly how many they'd be getting in. I eventually managed to reserve one a little way out of the city centre at a Currys Digital, so if you can't find one in the specialist shops I think you'll generally have more luck in the Electrical shops.

It was never like this with the Cube was it?

  4. You should come back. Help the future become more like the past.

Any notoriety I achieved back in ye olde was probably due to my mischief in the face of the gestapo-esque attitudes displayed by a few of the moderators. As far as I can see the grip's been loosened now, and I doubt I'd have much to contribute to this forum anymore.

  5. A friend and myself have recently been going through the Timesplitters series in co-operative mode, and as we approach the last level we're feeling a bit lost as to what we can play once it's done. What we're after is a game that fits the following criteria:

    * Can be played in co-operative mode

    * Is (preferably) an FPS, but we're open to others

    * Is reasonably challenging and will last a good few gaming seshes

    * Is on the GameCube

Anyone know anything that fits the bill?

    Cheers.

  6. Rhapsody pwn all before them. quite possibly the funniest musical act in history.

Rhapsody are my favourite Power Metal band too, for cheap laughs it has to be "The Magic Of The Wizard's Dream" featuring a disgraced Christopher Lee.

My Enjoyment of Power Metal goes no further than laughing at its clichés when pissed and revelling (albeit with a tongue firmly in one cheek) in the bombastic imagery created by the fantastical timbres. Even my friends (a few of who have formed a Power Metal band) enthuse as much about the hilarity of it all as they do the nods to the classical composers (of whom they are well versed in). Last year I went to see Yngwie Malmsteen, the godfather of the genre, who was supported by a band called "Dragonland" who had a song entitled "Majesty of the Mythril Mountain". Announced in the singer's Nordic tones it had me and my mates chuckling for about half way through its duration.

I'm just leaving a phase of loving the ultra-twiddly guitaring, my tastes these days heading towards rootsier rock stylings and blues/rock jams. For me these genres satiate the appetite that got me into playing the guitar in the first place much better than the baroque-esque arpeggiotron stuff I dabbled in for a while. Regardless, if you're a fan of the guitaring in Power Metal I can empathise, retrospectively at least.

  7. Let It Rock - Bon Jovi.

Walking In Memphis - Mark Cohn.

    Good choices

No mention of You're the best from Karate kid? That's hot shit, right there.

    Mmhmm

The Touch:- Transformers the movie soundtrack

A bit of Stan Bush always gets a nod, Dare also comes highly recommended.

I still think "Man in Motion" by John Parr (not the recent bastardisation) is top of the pile, alongside Herbert Grönemeyer's "Manner", the themes from Baywatch and Ghostbusters, Michael Macdonald's "Sweet Freedom" and Whitesnake's "Straight for the Heart".

  8. This is a picture of a guitar just like mine (my guitar's in the Guitar Gallery at the moment getting spruced up in time for xmas). The only major difference between mine and this is the fact I had a DiMarzio FRED installed in the bridge position, oh, and the fact that this one has a pointlessly white selector switch.

Anyway, the model is a Jackson TH1-L, discontinued in 1997 and supposedly arousing the interest of Jackson collectors these days, but they can fuck off! It's my baby!
