  1. Could someone please explain why we are getting Mario, Zelda and Metroid games as of late, over and over again....?

Is that NINTENDO's vision of hardcore games? I mean, they're all awesome, but there's a lot more characters and franchises they are forgetting.

    Thoughts???

To try and stop "hardcore" gamers from complaining about Nintendo focusing on the "casual" players and ignoring the "hardcore" ones.

  2. So Bomberman is out. Anyone getting it?! Tempted, but only worth it for multiplayer.

Also, does anyone know if you can multiplayer with it with only one of you having it? (locally)

It has Single player, local multiplayer and online multiplayer. I'll post my FC later.

  3. I know it's been said before, but it's nice that Nintendo want to support the series:

I cannot elaborate on the details, but let me talk about one title with which we have come to a basic agreement. Nintendo will collaborate with Square-Enix on the overseas sales of Dragon Quest IX that they launched in Japan for Nintendo DS in July this year. For the U.S. and European sales, we would like to fully cooperate with them. Nintendo would like to play a key role in expanding the Dragon Quest title in these markets because our preposition is that such quality title could and should sell more in the overseas markets. That is the basic agreement, and we will decide the details from now. - Shinji Hatano (General Manager, Marketing Division)

Shame Square Enix are taking so long getting it translated.

  4. Sack the antivirus software altogether. As long as you know what you're doing on a computer you'll be fine without it. Don't open dodgy files. Use a decent browser and you're sorted.

Good plan until one of your "trusted" sites gets hacked and spread viruses around.

  5. Yeah I really like the new games, the chicken one if funny, reminds me of the Balloon Fight mini game from Wario Ware: Smooth Moves and snowballing is good fun. The platfom one is probably my favourite, feels like your in a Mario game even the music sounds Mario-y (not sure if it is from a Mario game, it sound kinda familar). The preset routines for focusing on certain aspects is a great feature as well.

Plus is much better than the first game.

  6. *BUMP* Just a heads up this is out Friday.

Dunno what they were thinking with this timed deal, because personally any hype and excitement has long gone, there's plenty of other games around atm, and I think many will have already had their fix with the 360/PS3 version.

    There is 4-player co-op though.

I cancelled my order about a week ago, the delays killed any hype I had for the game, plus I ended up getting the 360 version which I've been replaying recently and I figured I don't want to play essentially the same game again. Plus November is going be pretty expensive for me so at least I'm saving £25 now.

Might buy it if the price drops later.

  7. Try this, the problem sound similar so it might work:

    Question

I'm running Windows Vista or Windows 7, and some or all of my GoldSrc games (Half-Life, Half-Life: Blue Shift, Opposing Force, Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic) will get to the loading screen just before the menu appears, then crash to desktop. How can I fix this?

    Answer

This may be caused by Data Execution Prevention (DEP) which is a security feature enabled on recent operating systems. Older games, such as GoldSrc games, were not created with DEP in mind and may trigger DEP's security features inadvertently. Please try the following:

    1. Go to Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance > Data Execution Prevention.

    2. Select "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:"

    3. Select "Add", navigate to C:\Program Files\Steam (or your default Steam directory), and add Steam.exe to the exception list.

    4. Additionally, you will need to add the executable (hl.exe, for example) for any game you are seeing issues with. These files will either be in \Steam\steamapps\common\<Game Title>\ or in \Steam\steamapps\<Your Steam account Name>\<Game Title>\

  8. Its both black and white. The reason it was released with the black consoles in Japan was because it also came with Monster Hunter 3. Monster Hunter 3 was actually available with the Pro on its own. Since I have 4 remotes (and I don't want to mismatch the nun-chucks, of which I only have 2), I'm thinking I'll buy one of the black pros.

Yeah, we're getting the back one on Friday, I was just wondering if there was any word on us getting the white one as well, although I' probably just buy the black one on Friday.
