  1. I apologise to those who were offended by comic 12. It certainly wasn't my intention. I know I can't please anyone, but I'll keep it in mind.

Also, the predictable comments are helpful, encourages me to be more creative. Which particular comics were the most predictable?

  2. Where did the faked interviews originate from, out of concern? Was it over at HM-Fusion? That site cannot be trusted.

Actually, the one I was referring to was the one from hyrule.net. HM Fusion tried a similar thing too, but they didn't go completely through with it. I considered naming the site, and the author (TSR) in the comic, but thought better of it.

Should I be nice or truthful? :(

You can be both, contrary to what eevilmurray would have you believe.

Critisizm doesn't have to be mean spirited. And it can include suggestions for improvement too.

Anyway, the art is good for the most part, i also like the font you chose. Although that changed for a few comics to something much more plain, don't do that again.

On the funny factor, its hit and miss. Some comics have original stuff like the pong joke and the richard simmons tingle which I liked a lot. Other comics like the mario kart death race and the tetris jokes were obvious and not really funny.

I changed the fonts around tryign to find one that'd be most readable in smaller sizes. Whil I liked the older one, it wasn't holding up all the time. I've gone with the same one they use over at Applegeeks, since it works well at small sizes.

As for the humour being hit and miss, this is the sort of feedback I was hoping for. The mario kart death race one I totally agree with you, I realised a bit too late the reason I was enjoying it was because it was a mad max and mario kart crossover, not because it was actually funny.

Do you clarify stuff with Revo-Europe before you create the comics or just do whatever you feel is suitable?

How do you create the comics? The artwork has a very digital quality to it that I like.

The content is normally my discretion, but I sometimes ask the staff for ideas.

I make the comics in 3 steps: sketch on paper, inking on paper using a light board, and then scanning into the computer and colouring in photoshop.

  3. So, Gamer PALs, the comic I do for revo-europe, has been going for 11 comics now. So what I'd like to get from you, the readers, is feedback. Feeback about any aspect of the comic, be it the humour, the art style, heck, even the font if you wish. I'd like to gauge just how well recieved the comics have been so far, but all I've gotten thus far is one email. And it was rather... nasty.

So, what do you, the reader, think? And what would you like to see in the future of Gamer PALs?

  4. I honestly think there will be nothing "special" about how the graphics are displayed. Miyamoto's comment about filling rooms is being taken out of context - he was talking about the distant future. The revolution is not going to be a freaking holodeck.

It will, however, look very nice. Remember, a certain percentage of gamecube power is being used for non-graphical tasks: AI, physics, object tracking, etc. Much more power will now be available for purely graphical tasks when comparing rev to cube.

And finally, "power", as has been said by others here, is not just a matter of clock speeds. It was irresponsible of IGN to imply this, and especially so to compare to xbox (comparing an optimised ATI chip to a simple celeron is borderline idiotic).

  5. Oh dear... wanna know a significant reason why no-one wants to trust the xbox in japan? It has a lot to do with the fact that a significant percentage of the launch xbox systems ate up game discs with scratches, and microsoft japan took a long time to replace systems, instead opting for sending new copies of the game. Because of this, it was hard to get many japanese developers to stay on with the xbox, which kept people away.

Microsoft have a trust issue to get over.

  6. When they talk about Wolverine being the reluctant leader, I think they mean just of the team that goes out and does things. Cyclops was the team leader up until now, but the movie makes it seem like Jean's death has led to him quitting the institute, which pretty much only leaves Wolverine or Storm to lead whoever is left.

Oh, and Colossus getting a bigger role is awesome.

Some people mentioned "hidden files" showing pics of emma frost - where are they?

  7. Well seing as hey got their asses kicked at cricket they need a break, maybe the country is going to change sports

Not to go too off topic, but Australia needed an arse kicking to make them rethink their selections. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have completely sunk in... bah.

Uh, yeah, football/soccer/kicksport. Go Australia! The best thing this will do is rejuvenate interest in the sport down here, regardless of how well the socceroos do.

And lammie, I'll send you some sauce for your shoe. Australia certainly isn't the worst team on the block, and I would think, depending on the draw, we'll win at least one game.
