  1. There was surprise screening of Furious 7 at SXSW and the early reactions seemed pretty positive.

    *shamefully stolen from GAF*

    Steven Weintraub @Colliderfrosty

World premiere of @creepypuppet's FURIOUS 7 played huge. No way you pay money to see this movie and walk out dissapointed.

    Steven Weintraub @Colliderfrosty

@BurnettRM @creepypuppet played like a rock concert. People cheering. Need to see again. Action is crazy. #THEDOME

    Lon Harris @Lons

Fast and Furious 5-7 = Greatest Action Trilogy of All Time. Done.

    Peter S. Hall @PeterSHall

FURIOUS 7 is so, so good at ensemble action. So many moving pieces all deftly managed. Sells the insane with ease, the emotion with grace.

    ErikDavis @ErikDavis

FURIOUS 7 is exactly what you want it to be. Unreal action sequences, tons of badass & a fantastic send off for Paul Walker. #sxsw

    Amirose Eisenbach @Amirosie

Furious 7: any attempt of realism has been completely abandoned. More outrageous stunts & dialogue than ever. Unfiltered fun! #ForPaul #SXSW

    Matt Donato @DoNatoBomb

#Furious7 was an action-packed blast. #SXSW DUG it. If these movies keep being so damn fun, there's no reason for the franchise to ever die.

    Ed Travis @Ed_Travis

#Furious7 finally made me a believer. Not an drop of cynicism or physics in the entire film. Loved it top to bottom. Cars DO fly. #SXSW

    John Laird @SideOneTrackOne

All the Paul Walker stuff is well done. Won't spoil anything. Just know it's all right. #furious7 #sxsw

    Peter Knox @Peterknox

Furious Seven is everything you want it to be. Plus Kurt Russell & The Rock deliver. A fitting swan song for Paul Walker. See it. #SXSW

    Johanna Fuentes @jfuentes

#Furious7 had SO many great moments, but a scene involving @TheRock, a cast & his bicep... Hands down my favorite. #SXSW

    Dan Casey @osteoferocious

FURIOUS 7 gets 7 furiouses up. Such over the top fun. Audience lost their damn minds for 2 hours straight. #SXSW #NerdistSXSW

    Silver Screen Riot @SSRdotcom

Furious Seven is so dumb. So beautifully, wonderfully, entertainingly dumb. #SXSW

    Talk Film Society @TalkFilmSoc

Furious 7 is the biggest, most over-the-top film in the franchise. The set pieces are insane. It's also rightfully very emotional.

    Gabe Hernandez @misplacedpants

Just saw Furious 7 and @TheRock definitely is a scene stealer. Great film that everyone deserves to see without spoilers. #Furious7

    Jon Partridge @Texas_Jon

#Furious7 is a blast. Fantastic action, humor and a lot of heart. Possibly the best yet from the franchise. Incredibly dignified ending.

    And more over at http://www.slashfilm.com/furious-7-early-reactions/

I for one cannot wait to see this film. I'm currently in a conversation with work colleagues on why I love this franchise. They all seem to think it's crap, poorly acted, over the top. But that's the point of them right?

I'll be at the cinema day one with Wifey for the premier of this, and already fully anticipate that the both of us will be in tears in the cinema during certain moments.

    Soon!

  2. Another to add to the list, Yesterday I completed Abes Oddysee: New & Tasty. Well I only rescued 85 Mudokon, so got a bad ending. Still great game. Never completed it back on the PS1, I just spent time making Abe fart and laugh. But actually playing it through was great. Some nice puzzles, although a few that were a little frustrating.

    Completed:

Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag (PS4)

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS4)

The Last of Us Remastered (PS4)

    Thief (PS4)

    Valiant Hearts (PS4)

    Abe's Oddysee: New N Tasty (PS4)

  3. Going to revisit my college days tonight. Going to see Yellow Card and Less Than Jake, and once that finishes sticking around at the venue for the club night 'Ramshackle' which was a regular Friday night occurrence 12 years ago.

It was an alternative club with indie shit downstairs and metal / nu metal room upstairs. I've heard that it's a complete change of music now, so this could be interesting or depressing.

but still, looking forward to the gig at least.

  4. Glad someone did this, I've been keeping track of films watched so far this year. Actually not got that many done after a good start.

    January

    Birdman

    Big Hero Six

    NightCrawler

    Fox Catcher

    American Sniper

    February

    Dumb And Dumber To

A Million Ways to Die in the West

    Edge of Tomorrow

    Horrible Bosses 2

    The Interview

Sin City: A Dame to kill for

    Guardians of the Galaxy

    The Inbetweeners 2

    John Wick

    March

Big Hero Six (2nd time watching it)

    Tangled

How to Train Your Dragon 2

2 more films watched yesterday! (Tangled and How to train your dragon 2)

  5. Only completed one more game since my last update which is pretty bad, but I blame stag do's for stopping the flow. Valiant Hearts becomes my 5th game completed this year!

    Completed:

Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag (PS4)

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS4)

The Last of Us Remastered (PS4)

    Thief (PS4)

    Valiant Hearts (PS4)

Currently half way though Abes Oddysee: New and tastey.

Loved Valiant Hearts so much, I think I'll complete it again as unfortunately I missed a few collectibles and this is a game that I'm actually happy to try to get them all as they give a nice bit of info on each item.

Abes Oddysee is just amazing. So much nostalgia from it. Stupid as it sounds I wasn't aware it was the original Abes Oddysee remastered. When I started it and saw the introduction to Rupture farms again and the oh so familiar menu screen I was very excited.

  6. So after watching the trailer numerous times, In the mood for all things Avengers, I thought I'd take a read of the Wikipedia for Age of Ultron.

Okay so I've been following the film, but I guess not paying full attention as the confirmed cast really caught me by surprise. I knew of Rhodes being in it but I had no idea the cast was so fucking huge...

So aside from the main cast we've seen in the trailer, I had no idea that Falcon, Heimdall, Loki, Selvig were all in this too.

Will Warmachine and Falcon actually be part of the main fight do you reckon? Or was Rhodes cameo just that party appearance from the trailers?

  7. Right February so far has been an awesome month for me in terms of watching movies.

    Dumb and Dumber To

Was scared to watch this as I love the first one so much. It's of course nowhere near as good, but it did leave me giggling alot. Basically I'm not disappointed it was made and would happily watch it again.

A Million Ways to die in the west

Loved it, Simply put. Charlize Theron was smoking hot in this. Enjoyed the cameos from other movies too.

    Edge of Tomorrow

Really enjoyed it, alot better than I had expected. From his latest SciFi Flicks Tom Cruise is doing well in my eyes (this and Oblivion).

    The Interview

Don't get why Korea flipped out over it. Team America and South park the movie were more offensive in terms of making dictators look like assholes. Entertaining film though which did make me laugh a fair amount.

Sin City A Dame to Kill For

Pretty boring start, but picked up. Nothing compared to the first film though. Also Lady Gaga's inclusion was a bit of false hype really wasn't it? Thought she'd have more than 4 lines for all the "Staring Lady Gaga" ads.

    The Guardians of the Galaxy

What do I need to say, Awesome film. 1st time I've watched this since the cinema.

    The Inbetweeners 2

Nowhere near as good as the first one, however the race on the water slides at the water park had me in stitches. Best part of the film, but it's an easy to watch, waste time on a lazy day film.

    Horrible Bosses 2

Pretty unnecessary sequel. But of course it's money. Jennifer Aniston again is incredibly hot in this. So that's something I guess. Chris Pine was pretty awesome in it too actually thinking about it. Yeah not a bad film.

Film count for 2015 so far:13

January: Birdman, Big Hero 6, Nightcrawler, Foxcatcher, American Sniper

February: The films listed above :)

  8. Yeah Raw was alright! I did enjoy seeing Reigns playing out to the crowd while Bryan was against BigShow. I did enjoy it actually, having a cocky persona Reigns.

And when they finally started brawling, that's when I realized that I'm actually looking forward to the Fastlane main event.

Somehow they've twisted the Rumble result into something that works and i'm interested in so well done I guess.

Loving Lucha Underground too, and NxT Rival was fucking immense.

  9. Completed Thief last night. I enjoyed it to a certain point. The first few missions were pretty decent, The brothel one was pretty good and not just because of the boobs everywhere (but my PS4 screen capture button was spammed alot then ;) )

There were some really good missions later on like the mansion break in for blue prints and breaking into the massive safe in the tower. But then I found it went downhill from there.

Wasn't particularly keen on fighting mutated freaky humans either, killed the games flow for me that.

    The list now stands at:

    Completed:

    Assassins Creed Black Flag (PS4)

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS4)

The Last of Us Remastered (PS4)

    Thief (PS4)

    Playing:

Knack (PS4) I started on easy, realized you don't get trophies for completing it on easy so will restart on medium.

But I'm thinking of taking a break from PS4, I've got Link Between Worlds on 3DS untouched, so thinking I'll make that the next game to complete.

  10. Anyone watched Lucha Underground?

I gave it a go last night on Dailymotion app on PS4. It's funny. The boss character is ridiculous. But it's not overly bad, kinda entertaining actually. Prince Puma is pretty decent.

Only been 12 episodes so far, and they're 40 mins a pop so will catch up with them to see how it goes.

  11. I got some rather decent luck yesterday.

Got paid which was awesome as last pay cheque was December 18th, so January was a hell of a month anyways.

But went into my local GAME which is tremendously shit compared to GAME in bigger cities or towns. I went in with the thought of buying a new game as it was pay day.

I thought i'd check the Amiibo counter just for a laugh expecting only to find Link or Mario. But There behind the till was one Rosalina.

I pretty much shouted at the girl serving saying "I'll take that Rosalina please!". She said that it was being kept behind by a member of staff who was planning on buying it after work (it was 17:45, they shut at 18:00). I argued a little bit saying that surely if the member of staff wanted to keep it they should hide it under the counter and said I wanted it. She had no choice so I picked up Rosalina for £13 (£2 off using my points)

So feeling in a tip top mood I went to Tesco as I thought well I fancy buying Guardians of the Galaxy. I checked the Amiibo section again there just because....

Yoshi, Yoshi, Kirby, Mario, Yoshi, Marth, Link....WAIT MARTH??

Yup Marth was there, last one for £10.50. I already have a Marth, but I didn't hesitate, I bought it so now I can actually open one.

TL;DR I bought Rosalina Amiibo and Marth Amiibo for a combined £23.50 from GAME and Tesco in Yate which is a town the size of a shopping Mall. Most happy.

  12. Well, that was a bizarre card for the Rumble, Pre-Show tag match, first match is a tag match, second match is a tag match, divas match is a tag match.

Uso's... ugh... I can't like them for some reason.

The triple threat match was fucking awesome. Rollins really shining in that match. He's no doubt got big things ahead. Funny during the Shield days people, myself included seemed to think when the Shield broke up, he'd be the least memorable person. But he's doing really well. All 3 members are.

Rumble itself god i was wishing the Wyatts got back together, I thought it was going to happen. Speaking of Wyatt's Bray was awesome in this years rumble. But the Mic parts... not quite as good as when Punk was doing it.

Rusev, I don't care if he's Russian heel, he is fucking awesome and it pains me to know that he'll be getting the burial treatment soon from Cena :(

Mizdow had one of the largest pops after Bryans elimination killed the crowd. Shame he didn't last too long.

Just unbelievable how they booked the ending to have Show and Kane in 2015 part of the final 4. And they way they disposed of the fan favourites in Ambrose, Ziggler and Bray, I could just picture Vince back stage thinking "Fuuuuck You guys!" towards the fans.

I'm not mad Roman won, I'm looking forward to the Roman Empire, I just really hope he doesn't turn into the Champion that John Cena is / was, but judging by his "you can boo me, or cheer me" part... well looks like he'll be following in Cena's footsteps to never be mad at the fans.

I did feel really sorry for him at the end of the Rumble though, but Rock should have stayed the fuck away. His promo at the end of the Rumble talking for Reigns was horrible, it didn't feel like Rock at all.

  13. Well I completed The Last of Us Remastered during the week. I had some negative thoughts of it in previous posts from about half way through it. Well not negative, but more like I couldn't see what the fuss was with it.

Having gone on to complete I have to say my opnion of it has changed considerably and I can't believe I ever thought this game was overrated.

The latter missions in the game are truly incredible and created some amazing moments. I won't write about them here although I can't imagine it'll be a spoiler as I'm probably the last person on earth to complete it.

I've not felt that attached to characters in a game in such a long time. Tidus & Yuna from FFX and Ryu Hazuki from Shenmue are the last times I can remember being so involved and attached to characters. I wanted to protect Ellie, I wanted to make sure she was okay. The final scenes were mind blowing as playing as Joel in those predicaments I felt like I was doing that. When explaining stuff to my wife who was watching me play the final few levels, she said "you're talking as if Ellie is a real girl" and when she said that I realized how attached I'd become to her. Absolutely stunning game.

Anyways the list now stands at:

    Completed:

    Assassins Creed Black Flag (PS4)

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS4)

The Last of Us Remastered (PS4)

    Playing:

    Thief (PS4)

    Knack (PS4)

playing these 2 as they are 2 of 3 games I've not completed in my PS4 collection. All the rest I've done. Will be looking to switch to some WiiU or 3DS games next.

  14. Caved and signed up to it.

Agreed with the comments on the difficulty trying to watch stuff in order via the PS4 app.

Enjoying it so far though, WrestlemaniaX7, Money in the bank 2012, 4 eps of monday Wars, 10 best royal rumble moments and WrestlemaniaXXX all watched so far.

Would be good if there were more episodes of Raw / Smackdown on it, If I recall I don't think there are any 2011 Raw episodes up yet.

  15. Well it looks like we're not getting shafted in terms of quantity compared to America, so that's pretty good.

Anyone been on yet to see how far the Raw / Smackdown shows go back? Would love to relive the attitude era.

Oh payday is after the rumble... ugh, I may buckle and do it for the Rumble.

  16. Went to see The Theory of Everything tonight. It was nothing short of brilliant. It's one emotional roller coaster, the acting is superb and the music fantastic.

Nice one of the next films I want to see. Along with American Sniper (please be good)
