  1. If this Pokemon Stars game is happening, I'd expect it no earlier than this time next year. Just in time for a massive Christmas 2017 Switch push.

Everyone who buys Sun and Moon now will have plenty of time to enjoy it on a brand new or previously purchased 3DS. Plus the plethora of other great software available on the system over the last few years.

Sun and Moon look like they're about to burst out of the technical limitations of the 3DS. The next mainline game being on Switch is an awesome thing indeed.

  2. I'm really keen to see how this does at this price point. It's definitely well outside of impulse buy territory at $10 - that amount can go really far in gaming these days. It's almost like they're testing what people will stand to access the brand outside of Nintendo's ecosystem.

  3. I got a NES for Christmas way, way back in the day. I think my parents bought it used from a family friend or something. I believe it had Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt. The new games I remember getting were Turtles and Rescue Rangers because I was mad about the shows.

I was insanely young and honestly don't remember all the details, unfortunately!

  4. I think the system will launch with Zelda, enhanced Mario Kart 8, enhanced Splatoon/Spla2oon and maybe one other new impressive title from Nintendo themselves. Perhaps some smaller scale "mobile" games to pad out the lineup, alongside a decent virtual console library off the bat.

  5. Discovered a lemon meringue pie for less than a pound on reduction at Sainsburys just as one of the best pieces of Splatoon music came on shuffle.

    That'll do, Wednesday. That'll do.

    [edit]

Shadow of the Colossus - Gatekeeper of the Castle Ruins followed.

    Wednesday, you spoil me.

  6. Five games out of so many greats.

Here we go! These are all games I have beaten or played comprehensively - still working through my Wii U backlog so this list will maybe change in future.

    1. Splatoon. Simply the best thing to come out of Nintendo in years.

    2. Super Mario Maker. Who could have seen this coming crouched around a tv playing NES all those years ago? If this came at launch I think it could have been very different for Wii U.

    3. Super Smash Bros. What can I really say that hasn't already been said? The best one yet by a large margin. The full roster still blows my mind.

    4. The Wonderful 101. Just fantastic throughout, great music and criminally cheap these days. The great game nobody can play.

    5. Mario 3D World. The ultimate 3D Mario adventure and a perfect combination of the past 2D/3D Mario titles.

I'd rank Mario Kart 8 as 6th, it's the best one yet and has perhaps the best value DLC I have ever purchased. I considered swapping this and Smash Bros., but in the end Smash edged it out.

There are so many good games on Wii U...

  7. 1. I'd like to be able to write and draw a long form online comic that can support my partner and I to live comfortably but by no means lavishly. I have endless ideas but struggle with too much self doubt and second guessing of everything I do to progress this dream at the moment. I'm slowly coming around to the idea it may never happen and I guess that's probably okay.

    2. I currently work in a small team

managing an online game community, my role tasks me with everything from customer service to graphics, content direction and copy. It's extremely enjoyable work and I have never woken up feeling anything other than excitement to do what I do every day.

    3. Absolutely not. I spent most of my early adult life with no idea what to do with myself and expected to continue milling around in customer service forever. My current role started as customer service and just slowly grew into what it is now due to needs of the business and general progression. As someone with no formal qualifications I consider myself very fortunate to have the opportunities I do.
