  1. Original Star Wars DVDs are coming!!!!

I probably won't be buying these, got all the DVDs already, and the only complaint I had with the special editions was Han not shooting first (though they changed it again and he shoots at the same time on the first DVD release) and that stupid bit where Han steps on Jabba's tail. Oh, and there was no need for gungans and "Weesa free" at the end of Jedi.
  2. Doctor Who

He was wearing it in the last scene in the TARDIS last week too, so either this weeks is set straight after, or the guy doesn't change his shirts.
  3. Doctor Who

Where are these reviews? I can't find any in the normal places.
  4. Doctor Who

Yeah, but he was only in 5 episodes of Buffy.
  5. Doctor Who

Tony Head was fantastic in Buffy, so much so that saying the last thing he was good in were the the gold blend ads is just bloody stupid. Tomorrow will get brilliant ratings, Sarah Jane Smith and K9 to bring in the fans of the old show that don't like the new one (fools), and Tony Head to bring in the Little Britain and Buffy fans (we Buffy fans follow their casts whereever they go).
  6. DVD recommend?

The Region 1 releases of these are much better, better packaging, picture quality and special features. And they're up to season 7, whereas only seasons 1-4 are available here. Apparently the R2 DVD rights have been bought again, and seasons 1-4 will be rereleased (assumingly with the same material as R1) before continuing with season 5 onwards.
  7. DVD recommend?

Firefly Serenity Another Red Dwarf Family Guy Season 4
  8. Watch this "or DIE!" Zelda fans.

That was terrible, but hilarious, always been intrigued by these games but never managed to find emulated copies anywhere. Not sure which was better, link and zelda riding on that genie, or zelda and the kings laughing at "we're about to have a feast" (did i miss some injoke there?)
  9. Doctor Who

Heh. The new console room seems to have been inspired by the old TARDIS, it's '96 regeneration, Serenity (it's falling apart), and Moya (it's alive). It's a beautiful design, I just wish they'd spend a bit more time in there.
  10. Doctor Who

It'll be shown on Jetix, it may never air on terrestrial, and if it does it could end up on CITV or C5, the BBC have no involvement in this show. If they have to have a K9 show I'm glad they've done it this way, both in the visual style and the fact that the BBC don't have a hand in it, it's clearly seperate from the main show. Another, live action spinoff would have been seen as milking it too much, this show will probably be forgotten by the masses after 1 or 2 episodes have aired.
  11. Majora's Mask

Played this a few weeks ago for only the 2nd/3rd time and really enjoyed it, great game, and there's so much to do in the way of sidequests and mask collecting that it doesn't really matter that there's only 4 proper dungeons ( + Ikana Castle + 4 mini dungeons on Moon). It's definitely not as replayable as Ocarina (played that just before for what must be at least the 10th time) but it's still a great game. The only thing that pissed me off when playing both of them was that one of my flatmates came in and started on about how it looked like a baby game, and that he'd much rather play a game with good graphics, leading me to go into a rant about how graphics don't = gameplay.
  12. Doctor Who

3rd successor, he's regenerated 9 times so far. 13 lives, we're on number 10. TimeLords can fix it though, they offered the Master another regeration cycle, I'm betting the Face of Boe's secret has something to do with the TimeLords. I thought last night was pretty good, not the best, but loads of fun. There are always going to be people that bitch about this new version of the show, gives them some sense of superiority that "their" version of the show was better. You know, it is possible to like both the old and the new.
  13. Family Guy THE GAME !!!!!!

It's quite annoying when people go on about how crap the new episodes of "Family Guy" are, when really they're not. As with "Doctor Who", people had been pissing and moaning about the shows being cancelled, and then continue to piss and moan when it comes back, "oh, it's not as good as it used to be" as if it gives them some sense of superiority to be able to go on about how the original run of the show that they were a fan of, was so much better than this new, more popular run of the show. It took a few episodes of season 4 to get back into the swing of things and not just bringing back popular characters just for the hell of it, but now it's as good as the show ever was, there's been some classic episodes.
  14. BREAKING: PS3 price revealed this morning ...

How I wish that were reality. It'll be more like this: C: I want to buy one of these next gen consoles GW: Alright then, we have the PS3 at £400, for that you get a machine, a DVD format that could well be obsolete in 6 months, and 1 horribly designed controller. C: Hmmmm, sounds crap, and what about the other one. GW: The Nintendo Revolution is priced at £150, for that you get the first true advancement in games in over ten years, a customisable controller you can use by moving or pressing the buttons, and for an extra £30 you get a game. C: Sounds great, but what was the name of that first one again? GW: PS3 C: *Gasp* PlayStation!! Gimme gimme gimme, I can go without eating for a few weeks.
  15. Isaac 'Chef' Hayes quits South Park

Was an amazing episode, hilarious, up there with Scott Tennorman Must Die, Woodland Critter Christmas, In The Closet and Free Willzyx in my opinion. Wonder if that was just a joke at the end, or have we not seen the end of Chef and the Super Adventure Club. For the last few years theyve done 7 episodes in March/April and then 7 episodes in November/December. They used to do about 20 a year so this is a shame, still a great show though, and I reckon it's better now than when it was hugely popular a few years back.
  16. Your favourite TV theme!

Angel Firefly (perhaps something of an acquired taste) Farscape (season 3 & 4 version) Buffy Doctor Who
  17. Pokemon Singalong

http://www.youtube.com/w/pokemon?v=TtomgUyynbw&eurl= Starts off incredibly sad, gets mildly amusing toward the end. Some people just shouldnt be allowed webcams.
  18. Studios Start to Drop UMD

http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=10400 "Sony hoped that the ability of its portable gaming system, PSP, to play movies would be a big draw to the console and help turn the PSP into a iPod-like must-have. So far that logic has been flawed. Sales across the board have been way below expectations, though backers say comedies like NAPOLEON DYNAMITE and "Chappelle's Show" have sold well. Piracy also seems to be an issue with hackers finding ways to rip DVDs on the PSP memory stick to circumvent having to buy them outright. As a result a number of studios are pulling PSP titles from the market including Warner Bros. who dropped plans for six upcoming titles including GOODFELLAS. Paramount also said they have no plans to release any new PSP titles in the coming months. All this comes as retailers are taking prime shelf space away from PSP titles as growth has stalled. Sony, not looking to give up yet, has said it will begin to bundle DVD and PSP titles together and will introduce a new adapter that will allow users to connect their PSP to their TV and watch movies on the big screen. Sony is also cutting back on PSP titles until they can figure out a way to make the format work." Not really surprised, might have been more successful if they cost less than regular DVDs. Why would someone buy a wire to play a PSP movie on their TV, surely the quality wouldn't be as good.
  19. New NOM

Had a quick look through, looks much better than the old mag. In recent months the old mag had never really made me want to go back to it after having a quick flick through after buying it, will definitely have a better read of this though.
  20. some retards attempt a video games programme

Wow, that went past the point of being so bad it's funny, and into just being painfully crap.
  21. No masturbating in the showers!

Obviously one of the students having a joke I think, easy thing to put together once you get the right logos and phone numbers to make it look official. Can't really believe theres enough quantities of the stuff to block the drains, but its the DNA testing bit that gives it away, they'd have to get the stuff blocking the pipes, have it analyzed, then get everysingle person that uses that drainage system to toss off in a cup for them. Funny though.
  22. Has Rare lost it's glory?

They're both great games, takes an hour or two to get into both of them but they're well worth it. My only problem was that Kameo was too short. Rare haven't lost it, their games now are still great fun. I do hope at some point they bring out a game with the great graphics of Kameo, but the long hours of gameplay of games like Banjo-Tooie and Donkey Kong 64.
  23. Xbox 360 Console Discussion

Perfect Dark Zero is a great game, at first I wasn't to keen on it, but I think I was finding it a bit easy, getting riddled with bullets yet seconds later having most of my health back, started to enjoy it much more as I got toward the later levels. Really enjoyed playing through it again on Secret Agent rather than Agent, though the Jungle level on Secret Agent did have me swearing at the screen. Very good game, very Perfect Dark-y. Which people forget was different to Halo (Halo, on the other hand is crap, really disliked that game, so overrated).
  24. LOST...In Lost lol

It's up, downloading it now. Imported the region 1 box set way back in September, £32 for the whole first season, not too shabby.
  25. New NOM team confirmed

I don't think it could ever be as bad as it was a few years back when they seemed to be obsessed with wrestling for a while. Seal was great before he left (he left just after the N64 launched) but when they brought him back he wasn't that good at all. I look forward to the changes, liking the new name alreadly Official Nintendo Magazine sounds so much better than Nintendo Official Magazine. Just hope that one day we get a demo disc.
