    I love lost with a passion! Excellent epic writting like nothing else on TV, and better than anything else. going to enjoy adding my 5 cents to this thead.

     

     

     

    I think it may be Locke thats in the coffin, he tryed to stop them from getting saved, but he left on his own back to the jungle, i think whoever is coming to the island will get the lostees off their and then start wiping out whoever is left on the island.

     

    You mention Locke trying to stop the survivors frm getting saved, that got me thinking, one thing you see with locke time and again is that he can be miss guided but even when he looks like he might be upto something sinister it generally turns out to be something with good intent (well maybe not when he got sawyer to kill his dad but thats something else :/ ). Its a trick thats been used more than once by the writers in sure. I think locke will turn out to be 'good guy' over all.

    I've not played it, and probably never will because I don't usually buy movie tie ins. But, sidetracking a bit, I'm really looking forward to the movie. That is all. :santa:

     

     

    Yeah they can mostly be crap, apart from Golden Eye of course.

    I didnt think much of the 1st Movie to be honest but still this one might be better, Like the 1st one it has the potential to be great.

    I think my Brother (and his Girlfriend) are getting me this for Christmas, he is not very good at keeping a secret lol, but I may be wrong.

     

    Anyway It was a game I was considering getting anyway. I had a look and it got quite a bad review on Gamespot.com, still If I do get that Ill enjoy as a present/gift from my Brother and his lass/free game :)).

     

    Has anyone bought this game, how did you find it?

     

    BTW I got My brother Transformers on DVD and his Girlfriend £20 of makeup from boots (well got my mam to get that as she knows her tastes), and a bottle of wine between them, so they better get me something good ;) lol.

    Absolute Classic games - Although I own these carts any way I do hope they both feature on the VC real soon - that way everone can appreciate how great these are.

     

    I also hope for the games below to feature soon:

    • Road Rash Trilogy
    • Flashback and Another World
    • Ranger X

     

    That would be class!

    Played that Thunder Force (remember it being fun and tough) Game about 3 years ago on a Megadrive my mate got 2nd hand, I had Robocop VS Teminator for my master System when I was a kid :))

     

    So much great game music being mentioned (Street Fighter 2, Tetris, Mario 64, FF7 SC2 etc) but no one has mentioned Parodious yet.

    The main music for level 2 is even better! ..the guy who posted this vid can really play this game as well.

    theres been a few great films on TV alone ive missed lately, but films I have seen over the few weeks

     

    Alien - Classic, Great Sci Fi/Thriller

     

    Sunshine (now I have a bit to say about this one ;) )- Perhaps seeing this the next evening at my mates after seeing (the classic that is) Alien might effect my opinion but: lots of thing where very well done in this film - Acting, Music, Effects, The plot however was not.

     

    Ok so you know there are a crew on a spaceship going to the sun to drop a bomb into the sun to create a solar flare (or something) to heat up the earth as it is suffering from the effects of 'global cooling'. You feel very little attachment to the characters however and dont end up caring if they snuff it or not (I cared what happened to the characters in alien but not this why?) the characters just didnt connect enough-how to put this? the film just seemed to sure of its self too soon with nothing to back it up (watch it to see ) and (again on the plot) soon was boring me to death with sci fi babble along with plot that just made no sense at times-or at least was not very well explained (to explain why could spoil a part of the film for those who have not seen it so I wont).

    Back on the topic of caring about the characters: perhaps a little back ground into the characters could have helped (not that it was needed in alien though for example) but only at the end of the film do we a couple of minutes of seeing the effects of global cooling on sidney and one of the characters families (his wife and kids) - You didnt even no he had a family before then, to little to late.

     

    Not a bad film just a very average one.

     

    Borat- Again saw this at my mates, I have it on DVD he had not seen seen, Hilarious stuff of course. ;)

    Once all the Street Fighterisms, music, voice, sound effects, etc. are in place, im sure this will make more sense

     

    Yeah im taking a wait and see attiude as well, Hope it does come together as does look bad from those screen shots.

    hm the only reason someone could say the second was better is cause link is in it? I honestly don't know why else it would be.

     

     

    Seriously... (Its all opinions I know) More Moves, Better Graphics, Improved faster more flowing game play (IMO), SC2 --> SC end of, as far as im concerned.

     

    Not that Soul Calibur isn't a great game as well.

     

    Any ways

     

    I perfer Alpha 3 to 3rd strike, not that im saying thats better but I prefer it.

    IMO Parodius kicks Gradius' ass anytime. While I do love the Gradius serie, Parodius is just so much more fun. It's wacky, it's diverse. The Octopus makes a fart when Speeding up, how crazy can it get? :D

     

    I played the NES version to death, but it's the 2nd and 3rd iteration that Parodius got at its best. Who can remember the "paperplane man" shooting sperm as bullets and having a condom as shield? Hilarious! Shame about the slowdown though.

     

    I'd love to see the serie return. I did had a PSP collection last year and there's a touchscreen semi-sequel in the arcades in Japan (either released or in the making). Who knows, maybe it'll head to Wii, WiiWare or DS some time...

     

    Got this on Gameboy, for a Gameboy game It amazing.

    Most of my Game Cube games ive not completed 100% and quite a few are sitting half complete due to bit I couldent be bothered to try keep trying to figure/keep trying to complete (eg metroid prime and Need and for speed) .

    Ive plenty of games ive 'compete' but not 100% such as Melee and Mario Kart DD -but im more than happy with my progress in of both of them.

     

    (in general) Ive completed a lot of games and there are even more ive not.

     

    I dont think you need to allways 100% complete of a game to a have achived a sense of completetion for it - for example on soul calibur 2 im sure I have not completed it with all the characters or fully completed the battle mission content of the game, how ever I have played a ton with character Asteroth, to point where I feel Im a decient fighter with him, I feel I can always have a good crack at time attack and survival, and have decient chance of kicking ass (with skill ;) ) in a 2 player battle as well.

     

    Then again maybe I did do SC2 with all the characters when I 1st got it, lol.

    .. sounds to me like you got two games for twenty. Turok Evolution and Fifa are just... dire. was 1080 7.99 as well? If so then consider the other games as a rental, and you've definitely got your money's worth :P

     

    1080 Avalanche has a really decent soundtrack, and although it doesn't feel as hardcore as teh N64 original, it's quite playable... Perhaps too easy.

     

    I'm a sucker for buying multiple games at once. Really need to learn that it doesn't work. I've got probably at least 4 games for the GC i've never played and at least 5 more that I've not played for more than an hour or so. I just bought 5 Xbox games recently and I've only played a couple of them. MUST LEARN!

     

    Yeah I know what you mean about getting too many games at one time.

     

    Yeah on its own 1080 Avalance was 7.99.

     

    I know what you mean about fifa street 2 but turok is ok (just, lol) and I find it a bit more enjoyable if I stick in a cheat for it so I have all the weapons and pick any level at will. mainly because the levels get so boring and being able to pick one at will with a full arsenal makes things a little more entertaining lol.

    (and at £5 (which it was as part of the 4) its ok -would have been a bit more narked if ide payed full whack for it).

    Ill list my Cube games and other nintendo machines I have, some games I have not played in a long time but for ones the have or have a good enough memory of playing for an informed opinion ill post a score for and/or some a comment.

    Crazy Taxi - not ageing that well 2 year ago when played a bit 8/10 now 6.5

     

    Soul Calibur 2 10/10 - One of the best fighting games on any platform ever.

     

    Capcom Vs. SNK 2: EO - GameCube controls arnt the best for this sadly I

    found-rather play Street fighter alpha 3 on PS.

     

    Need For Speed Underground 2 - Enjoyed this a lot -fun 2 player (got bored 1 player) 7/10 1 player 8.5/10 2 player.

     

    1080 Avalance 9/10

     

    Metroid Prime 8.5/10

     

    Super Smash Brother Melee 7/10 1 player 8.5/10 2 player

     

    Virtua Striker 2002 6/10

     

    Mario Smash Football

     

    Sonic Mega Collection 10/10 -for what is.

    Ace Golf - Easy to pick up but a good chalange, fun relaxing as a golf game should be 9/10

    Yeah it is class mate, It was £7.99 on its own, not bad eh?

     

    1080;s the only one on that list i have played and i thought it was a good game, challenging but good at the same time.

     

    BTW, 500th post finally.

    Agreed, it is challenging in a good way, control wise though it very easy to pick up, which is lucky as I didnt get any instructions with that one.

     

    If anybody is thinking about picking up Ace golf I did a search for it though this web site http://uk.gamestracker.com and there are few sites selling it (at a glance saw, £3 on CEX but only 1 copy available).

    So i got a sweet deal

     

    I got:

     

    1080 avalanche (great game, fun and a bit of chalenge).

     

    Ace Golf (not play played this too Much - but seems to be a class little game).

     

    Fifa Street 2 (utter dink! maybe ill get into this if I play it somemore but so far, not so good - it may be a bit of a laugh 2 player so im taking it to my brothers place next friday night, and ill have a game against him on his cube).

     

    Turok Evolution (this again seems to miss the mark a bit, a bit a basic and not the most fluid FPS ive played but in all not terrible (ill try to stick with this one).

     

    Anyone else got any of these games, what do think of them.

    Ok nice simply question this, Im thinking of getting this for my PSP, looks pretty sweet, does any one here have it on that platform (or maybe on DS if so whats it like on that?) is it worth picking up and just how good is it in your opinion?

    My flatmate has a PS3, I havent bought any games for it (non take my fancy-but I havent really looked that hard) but Ill get this, I love soul calibur 2 on the gamecube and I hope this can better that.

    I have soul calibur for the dreamcast and do like it but find it a bit 'basic' and 'chunky' game play wise compared to SC2 on the cube which plays like a dream, I also have soul calibur 3 for PS2 and ive found that one to be lacking im not totally sure why, I guess it just feels less fluid gameplay wise and less balanced.

     

    Graphics wise in SC3 they scaled down the polygons on the characters to (I beleve) have better looking fighting environments but this has not really worked in (IMO) a lot of the back stages have too much going on in them or feel to contrived and in a game like soul calibur your going to be looking more at charaters more than anything else (though maybe thats why the bigger boobies in SC4, lol).

     

    Im no 'expert' at fighting games, but feel like I played enough calibur for decent opinion on it ;) .

     

    Oh and asteroths back so sweeeeet!!!
