  1. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games

My arms were in agony all day from the epic battles of the night before. I think I'm addicted to this like Track & Field back in the day. Best olympic game ever
  2. Masturbation

I guess it depends on your sex drive. Or if the missus is off the sex for those few, moody weeks. Im in a sexual haven with my fiance but she isn't here all of the time. And when she isn't . Mrs palm) or should I say "madam Palm" comes in handy. Chuckle.
  3. Super Mario Galaxy

Yeah it seems you can only "view" as far as Mario's next can crane too. Shame. I like taking in all of the surroundings. Pain in the ass to zoom out and turn around and zoom in again. By then I've seen something else interesting. And Mario's eyes dissapear when you "look". Bizarre. Kind of like YOU ARE HIS EYES!!! Twilight Zone much?! What ALWAYS peeves me about 1st person views is that you can look around but look down and there are NO LEGS. It shatters the illusion totally.
  4. Masturbation

I've always felt it was only a skank who swallowed. And I don't want to be my OWN skank. That's a new low. Like spanking yourself and calling yourself names while beating off. For the record: I knew a girl who liked to spit jizz back onto my stomach...I cracked her round the head and that was the last time I ever saw her.: peace: And my mate "swears" by his 'pokey-bum wanks'. He is 24. He needs therapy. Or handwash.
  5. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

Cooky...I remember the day it was posted and I never got it because I had £40 in my "rewards" account and just presumed it was an error. Some you win eh?...At least you can sell it for a profit ;p (if you ever wanna!)
  6. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

Personally I think it's daylight robbery for £70. Or £55 for that matter is a bit steep. I really want this but I don't think I've ever spend that much on a game since 1996! Indeed I shall bide my time and wait for this little monster to fall in price. It's not like there is a quality software crisis at the moment anyhoo.
  7. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games

So I had an "olympic" party as planned tonight: 7PM: People turned up and I noted there would be no Wario/Sports/Carnival Games. Boos and jeers rang supreme as memories of previous parties were remembered. (Vaguely!) 8PM: Booze was flowing and people presumed the booze was spiked as Mario and Sonic appeared on-screen. The demonstrations then began - Single events for those brave enough to get involved (read: everyone or instant Tequila). 9PM onwards: Tournaments started with everyone generally understanding what to do. And most ppl choose their own mii . Highlights included an epic hammer/javelin throwing event between girls and guys and a brilliantly thought-up 8 player relay in the 400m relay and team-based competitive swimming. (2 teams of 4). Everyone was having such a laugh and we ended up having no time for Wii Sports/Wario/Carnival Games. The best events were the "simple" ones such as the long jump/hammer throw/javelin/swimming/skeet shooting. (And, suprisingly, rowing...Because WITHOUT nunchuks it is A LOT better as the button presses are easier...And sitting down using only the 'mote like a paddle is much more fun ) Booze for last place was also a highight Run fat boy run!! My personal favourites (and the ones I showed off to "traditional" gamers) were archery, high jump and dream races (mario kart on foot!). The added complexity of these events make the game truly feel like there is a "game" in there. Infact, the online World Records mean you're constantly trying to get a "best" time ALL of the time. And really, competition is what the Olympics is all about. Brilliant fun. Rent it, Buy it, play it, love it. (With friends of course)!
  8. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

Fair few businesses selling this on ebay for 46!!...Dodgy or not?! Seems legit but that's cheap!
  9. Super Mario Galaxy

In my opinion the greatest thing about this game is the fact you can sit down and play for 1 hour or 5 hours and you feel as if you've really accomplished something. I can see this game lasting me months and months as I take my time with mini-sessions. Man I've got this and Mario Olympics to play. It feels suitably retro but absolutely wonderful.
  10. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games

I played and played until I unlocked archery. And it's pretty addictive stuff. The controls work very well. It is kind of jarring if you pull the nunchuck infront of the wiimote (obviously IR goes AWOL) but it is super addictive and the computer is very good at the event meaning it's tight until the end. Ace. The only event I have had serious issues with so far is the triple jump. It is easier to watch the characters steps as they jump (rather than follow the on-screen prompts), but using the nunchck as a motion sensor is a flawed idea. This is why: There is a box which is the "power" of each jump. It is quite small and the slightest movement seems to send the power shooting out of the top of it (ala hitting too hard in Wii Sports Golf) but it is so sensitive that it's never consistent. Therefore you may nail the "hop" and then the "skip" but then the "jump" is buggered. And that's even with the wiimote. Think about it, your using one hand to dictate a specific "power" (as the wiimote seems much more sensitive than the nunchuck) and then your hand with the nunchuck must hardly move. It's stupid. Then when you are overly sensitive nothing registers. There is no leeway. Triple jump is a no-no. But don't let that put you off. Consider it a miniscule pimple on Sonics butt cheek. Indeed (apart from t-jump) this is kiddie cocaine. Thoroughly addictive. I've been using my mii more so than the "stars" and it just feels like a spiritual successor to Wii Sports. The replays are pretty good and you can't help but smile when your mii is launching a javelin into the crowd (I mean stratosphere). A great game. But yeah, shame about the lack of widescreen. No excuse. Tut, tut, tut. And some of those world records..They will be beaten. Doping or not.
  11. Bender's Big Score

My gf is a huge, huge Futurama fan and liked the fact it cleared some of the backstory up. I've always "not really minded" it. The plot was infinately better than numerous time travelling films and was indeed quite enjoyable. Can't say it will set the world on fire though. Futurama is still an aquired taste in my opinion. Good fun though. Just don't sit down expecting this to blow you away. We should all have learnt that from the Simpsons Movie
  12. Super Mario Galaxy

Spolier tags pleeease : peace: The crouch and walk is much better than mario64's. Another move I recently found is a second butt stomp. If you shake the wiimote whilst in the air then butt stomp, it's a larger, different animation.
  13. Rumor Control - IGN's Nintendo Voice Chat

Damn their 'miniscule' Galaxy spoilers! Saying Brothers in Arms seems like it's got a lot to live up to MOH:Heroes 2 (control wise) and it's interesting that the game MAY use the unreal 3 engine as the devs dont say they don't use it when asked. Other than that, Fran being a dork, Bozon chumping alongside Matt and holidays now till Monday.
  14. Football Season 2007/2008

Whoever gets the job - Doesn't really matter. The problem is deeper than that. Our 'kick-and-rush' football is too inferior to foreign football in which keeping the ball and technically "working" for 90+mins is paramount. That's my personal take on it anyhoo. It seems like when England have a 'dynamic' defender he can can jostle srtikers off the ball and head over the bar and play direct long balls into the final third. many nations such as Italy(etc) seem to have defenders whom note that passing and positioning are the key components of defenders. And when we have a midfielder who has the ability to 360 then plow the ball over everyones heads in the box (J.Cole) we think he is a magician. We think that we invented football and therefore we are the "best" before we even cross that white line. We think getting the boot in and a large striker will win us games. Grassroots needs changing. Is it any wonder the large European teams don't take on board our English young lads for their academies?! if our style of play is so much better and exciting well why haven't we wo anything since 1966?! Maybe this is the kick in the nuts English football needs...I doubt anything will change though.
  15. Super Mario Galaxy

Just thought I'd reccommend you all to read http://www.Nintendojo.com feature on Galaxy. It's a great roundtable. An excerpt from staff writer Khurram A: Ever since Galaxy was announced, a debate has been raging on which games comprise the Canon of Mario. I was disappointed to see three editors from 1up agree that there have been only six: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and finally, Super Mario Galaxy. To be so dismissive of Super Mario Land and more so Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins; to spurn SuperMario World and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island; to deny New Super Mario Bros. and Super Paper Mario showed a cavalier thoughtlessness and disrespect towards a series - with nary a misstep - to be revered. But Super Mario Galaxy is the rare specimen that makes every other title seem like it's doing something wrong. Call of Duty 4 is Medal of Honor, and BioShock is Doom; but Mario is Mario. I excuse 1up because they are in awe; they are dazed and confused. Mario Galaxy hits you like great music and like a winning lottery ticket. I don't expect people to understand how well this title accomplishes its goals for at least a year. Every review you've read is premature. About twelve years ago, I remember watching an A&E documentary about the work of novelist Charles Dickens. One Dickens scholar interviewed for the show spoke of his deep love and profound gratitude for the writer's work. I remember being in awe of the obvious impact the Nineteenth Century writer had on one of my contemporaries. The interviewee spoke about how he studied every minute aspect of Dickens' life and work, except one thing - the novel Dombey and Son. That one novel, the speaker was saving for the darkest and most difficult days in his lifetime, whenever they may befall him, because there is no experience comparable to reading a Dickens work for the first time; and nothing has the power to lift him from the depths of despair like his favorite writer. To many, whether they know it or not, their favorite writer or musician, their artistic soul-mate is Shigeru Miyamoto. The man has an understanding of human emotion, temptation and psychology that isuncanny. And he accomplishes it all with as few words as possible. The last game to completely engross me was Resident Evil 4. With all due respect to Mr. Mikami, Mr. Kamiya and Mr. Kobayashi, I feel embarrassed for letting a game so much weaker than Super Mario Galaxy cast a similar spell on me. But I fear it has a happened to all of us, at one time or another. In the plainest terms, let me honestly and seriously tell you about Super Mario Galaxy: if more people played this game, there would be fewer wars going on in the world right now. The closest hyperbole I've read for years, and especially for Galaxy's brilliance.
  16. XP and vista gadgets

Ok So I know you can get specific Vista elements to work in XP via patching. Yet I can't seem to find any viable places to get any of these files. They are harmless fun no? I am looking for a sidebar for XP similar to Vista and looking for the transparency effects around the windows. Just seems there are a lot of options and your opinions on wht are/is the best option would be greatly appreciated. Oh, I cannot install windows blinds as it says I don't have user permission or something?! If anyone has any info about a good sidebar that would be great thanks
  17. Super Mario Galaxy

I wish (at times) there were bigger levels (Like Mario64) but this is highly concentrated joy I guess so no complaints. And I am addicted to the music on Gusty Garden.
  18. The Wii Turns 1!

Wii Sports is the greatest, most accessible ingenious tech demo I've ever played then. The other consoles can only wish they had something as influential and realistic as Wii Sports. I firmly believe it is the sole reason Wii is still selling so well. Most articles in the paper or most people you speak to praise the Wii because you can use it as a racket, bat etc... dafty. I'd rather swing a remote and crack backhands across a "not bad looking" net with timing and motion than press "x" anyday. And aren't the mii characters better than a generic character in a game? Wouldn't people relate to and not feel intimidated by playing with their own character rather than steffi graff or David Beckham or (insert sports superstar here)? I firmly believe people will look back at the Wii and remember something that paved a new path and changed gaming forever. Just like the PS1 brought gaming to the "mainstream" Wii is getting into that groove and making gaming even "cooler". But not in a geeky way. Wait till wii fit hits ...
  19. Lego Star Wars 2 (100%). Takes eons! Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. Duff. Pure duff. Zelda: Four Swords. Again with the crudness.
  20. Super Mario Galaxy

Remember, in real life: When a star dies a new one is born and thus a new Galaxy is born. That would be pretty exciting I reckon.
  21. Dilemma - Please help!

Both parties should do the obvious: Put this despute behind them by... "BOTH PAYING HALF FOR A NEW PHONE"
  22. The Music Thread.

Indeed I love the jangles of the guitar. Plucking away with disco "twang". I like both of Blunty's albums The sensitive bugger he is.
  23. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games

Maaaan I love that shop Games are usually cheaper than Game too. Plus they do indeed break street dates on the big games. If I didn't have a £40 Gamestation credit note I'd be straight there tomorrow.
  24. Super Mario Galaxy

Just like with Mario 64 I feel that the Bowser levels are the greatest, cleverest, ingeniously, most amazingly best designed levels ever...Fact.
  25. The Wii Turns 1!

Mario Galaxy is better than ten games right there...
