  1. I got this on Friday and the more I play it the better it becomes with more things opening up to unlock. I have spent the past two days getting to grips with the golf mechanics and they are excellent. It's extremely exciting when you manage to pull off the perfect shot. (which for me at the moment is rare and a fluke if it actually happens. :p)

I am at Level 5 and just unlocked the VS character on the beginners levels. :)

  2. Is it posted up anywhere? I want to read! :) Good luck!

    Yay, thanks!

It isn't yet as I'm not meant to put it up anywhere until the competition is over as part of the rules but I'm very pleased you are interested! :D I shall put it up once it is safe to. :)

Only one other person has read it and that is my dyslexia teacher/helper person to make sure it has paragraphs. She enjoyed it, so I'm slowly gaining fans. :heh:

In other new I woke up out of sorts but that soon disappeared when I had Chicken katsu curry for lunch!

In terms of University work I am on track, I wanted to be ahead but I was ill this week so fell a bit behind. Got my method written up for my dissertation and hopefully will get some more advice on my results and tips on the discussion next week. I have an essay due in two weeks time an a poster thingy that is looming over my head but I shall get done over Easter.

In fun news: I shall be watching Sherlock this evening (season 1 episode 3) as it is much better than I thought it was going to be. Previous judgement based on teenage fans. :p

  3. I felt I was going to die today. (I feel this every day)

Since I was feeling mortal I decided to get something done so I was spurred into finishing my short story for a competition so I have that written all up now!

I can die tomorrow safely. :)

  4. I really liked the self-awareness in the film. How they know that the world has moved on, how they're not afraid to show the decay of their own creation. I really enjoyed that. It made me laugh a lot and it seems that's their first goal. So they achieved :]

Laughter is the 3rd greatest gift. :heh:

    Black Rain (1989, Ridley Scott.)

    Runtime: 125 minutes

American ignorance aside this is still a well directed action/thriller that just seems a bit dated now.

    Network (1976, Sidney Lumet.)

    Runtime: 121 minutes.

It has the greatest dialogue, superbly satirical which remains relevant today. It has a good ending if a little haphazard compared to the rest of the film. Definitely made me want to shout out of the window.

    Marie Antoinette (2006, Sophia Coppola)

    Runtime: 123 minutes.

Empty but strangely beautiful at the same time. Compelling nothingness. Modern.

  5.

Disgaea 3 will be out soon, wait for that. Will be especially cool if peeps on here get some multiplayer going.

YES SO MUCH IT HURTS. But as Bardinator said....3 is out soon.

Ooh! I didn't know the 3rd was coming out soon, I might just wait for that. Although I may be tempted if my RPG cravings reach a critical level. :heh:

I got called a traitor by someone today for swapping my 3DS for a Vita, I ignored them and continues to play Lumines. :p

Man I need to play more Rayman but I'm starting to actually get good at Lumines.

If it wasn't clear already I'm addicted to lumines.

    LUMINES.

  6. I thought it was gonna be like some poor attempt at an FPS but it's more of a third person style arcade shooter with more enfacise on the collecting of points through out the levels (of which there are 36) Obviously only the first available in the demo and it has leader boards to see where you rank, there will be daily challenges and online Co-op play as well. :)

Control wise at first I thought it was a bit iffy but I cranked the control settings to make them more sensitive and it became less jerky in motion. Graphically it's not going to wow you but it's solid for what it's trying to achieve.

The characters can level up and I think there are six different classes but I'm unsure how they differ as I have only played as one character.

    EDIT:

There is also an episode of South Park Season 12 episode 1 going for free at the moment for those who may want to check out the video feature. :D

  7. Is it actually? It had a terrible first 5 minutes so me and my woman turned it off after that.

It's too self important and the film thinks it's being "quirkier/clever" than it actually is but it's by no means a terrible film. Emma Stone is always a fun watch.

    Young Adult

    young-adult-poster.jpg

Reitman's weakest film but the characterisation remains solid. The narrative is what lets it down it was a bit too simplistic and lacked any real spark for the "emotional" parts of the film to hit home. :)

    Mighty Joe Young

    mighty_joe_young_ver1.jpg

    APES RAWK.

The films not that good but man gorillas are awesome. :D

  8. So I keep going to do things and this keeps getting in the way. Everything this game does is to entice you into forgetting your existence. I went to come on here to post in this thread an hour ago and thought "I'll just have one quick go."

...having said that I'm still learning the "basics" on how to play as my high score so far is only 83,000 roughly. The music is astounding right up my street, it's all very laid back combined with the skins changing it truly is designed to be mesmerising.

My one gripe with the game is the loading time after the 30 second mode game because it's over too quickly and I have to wait longer to actually play again. :)

I have never truly played a Lumines game before though I had a quick go on the Xbox 360 and I didn't get into it back then probably because this for me feels more suited to the handheld, as I took it out with me whilst I was out today and played it when I had a spare moment. :D I'm glad the Avatars are given more purpose than before although I always forget to utilise the rear touch pad to activate them quicker.

Glad to see a master mode where you can't use those as well, will I ever get there?

    Only time will tell. :heh:

  9. ...I want to look away but I can't!

I lie I don't even want to look away. The screen just draws me in and the whole thing is very addictive.

The music player is actually good to use out and about, I tried it today! I could see myself using it regularly once I update to a 32GB card, alongside video which is also good as I put some Phineas and Ferb on their so I'm all set for a big journey if the occasion should arise. :)

As someone who wasn't too drawn in by achievements I love the set up of the trophies, it again for me adds to the addictive quality as it gives you more focus and things to do once perhaps the main stuff is done.

I usually dislike Rayman I think he has appeared in some poor games but this is actually something else it's amazing (close to distracting) to look at and has incredibly tight controls the whole display is wonderful. The D-pad on this thing feels so old school. :)

I need to play more of it but I only played a few levels this afternoon and then got hooked on beating my ghost times. :D I need to try near to see if I can get some gifts/swap ghost times.

I think the launch title line up is excellent, the 3DS lacked the variety that this has plus like the setup of loads of PSP titles and other PSN Store downloads off the bat.

My next game might be Persona 3 from the store so I can play it before I get 4.

Tried out Motorstorm RC it is really fun but I'm unsure it's for me, in terms of control it was a lot tighter than I was expecting but I'm not good at that style of game.

Little Deviants was a fun distraction as a demo but nothing more for me.

Hustle King was a surprisingly fun pool experience, fairly simple but even the demo drew me in and the fact I could listen to my own music whilst playing was cool.
