    Today marks the 22nd birthday of The3rdChildren and the 20th birthday of Cubechris.

     

    Let us all honour this occasion with generic birthday greetings in an attempt to validate our friendship and bring light to their otherwise dark, woeful lives.

    Wanting people to send you rare pinatas is a bit odd in my opinion. A lot of the enjoyment from the game is based around discovering new pinatas and finally succeeding in getting them into your garden.

    I agree with Tellyn regarding the Season 1/2 debate. The first half of Season 2 is fantastic, with some great moments:

    The bombing of CTU in particular comes to mind

    and some great characters (Mason is my alltime favourite 24 character). However, then

    the bomb goes off.

    After that it starts to go dramatically downhill with it's fake recordings and crappy OIL TYCOON VILLAIN Peter Kingsley. At that point in time nobody really gave 2 shits about him so the finale was a bit of an anticlimax, although Jack running up a fucking wall to break a guy's neck was pretty cool.

     

    Also, 24 starts in the US again with 2 episodes on the 14th and another 2 on the 15th. Still not sure when Sky One are showing it, they will probably start by showing 2 episodes on the 21st and then the next 2 the following week.

     

    Also, HoT: don't taint yourself with the game, it really isn't very good. Although it does a decent job of recreating the atmosphere of the TV series.

    Anyway,

     

    VII, like most other people, is my favourite. Yeah, the fanboys can be irritating and it tops all of the polls, and there seems to be some sort of stigma nowadays with liking the game for some reason, but ignore all that and just concentrate on the game itself. To me, the story and cast of characters is the strongest out of the lot. The soundtrack is fantastic. The materia system is great. And Cid is awesome.

     

    VIII had some good moments, but I found the storyline to be overly sappy, and I didn't like it's cast of characters - most of the time was spent wanting to punch Squall and Rinoa in the face. The magic system was also broken in my opinion, as you could keep drawing magic out of the same enemy over and over again. The soundtrack was also less than stellar, I could name you 3 or 4 tracks that were memorable to me compared to FF7's several dozen.

     

    IX is better than VIII, but what kills it for me is how stupid the story gets past the 3rd or so disc, culminating in a final boss battle with an enemy that has absolutely nothing to do with the story. Also Kuja was a crappy villain. Stupid Trance system as noted by Dom. It redeems itself however with it's cast of main characters - Steiner, Vivi and Quina were extremely likeable. Also had a good soundtrack.

     

    X.. I never even beat it. I lost track of what the fuck was going on by the time I got to Zanarkand. There weren't many characters I liked either, I think Wakka was the only one.

     

    Not played X-2 or XI, and i'm waiting on a PAL release for XII.

    Because for some reason for the PAL release Konami decided to replace the burly men you control with fucking robots. Which is video game blasphemy, especially considering Contra 3 (I refuse to call it Probotector) is one of the best games on the Snes.

    On topic: PS1 games on a PSP are done without a PS3 due to a new custom firmware that was released and a handy conversion tool. Like Uchiahhaheah said it is illegal so i'm sure you can just Google it. I will confirm, however, that Final Fantasy 7 on the bog is sweet.
