  1. Why is it that there seems to be a 'discussion' between Sheikah and someone after every mafia game? Or maybe it just feels like that cause there have been a few...

Anyway, I enjoyed following the game, and was gutted to be killed night 1. The most annoying thing is that the forum did that thing again where it doesn't tell me I have a PM. I didn't realise the game had started! When I saw my PM I thought 'awesome, well I'll target myself night 1 as I don't know who's worth protecting yet'.

Then I went to check the thread and it turned out it was already day 2, and I'd already been night killed! When I posted SUPER LAME that was the first time I'd seen the thread!

So yeah, I wouldn't have died night 1 if I'd paid more attention/checked the Playground board sooner. That would've been cool.

  2. The bullet went straight through him (more powerful weapon). When she comes to collect him before he meets Mallory for the first time in M's office, Eve sort of apologises and Bond says something along the lines of "oh don't worry, it was just a couple of ribs, some of the less vital organs..."

Basically, it went through him but didn't do massive amount of damage, not enough to kill him at least. It's unlikely, yes, but no less likely than things in other similar action films. I can think of two much more ridiculous things in other films straight off. Basically, if you're going to go into a cinema to watch a Bond film and start criticising things like him surviving being shot then you're doing it wrong. Any action film, in fact. All cinema, in fact. It's not really the discussion, I know, but If Bond films were realistic he would be following a dude, then he'd radio to someone else and they'd take over and he'd go and do loads of paperwork. I go for action/entertainment, not realism!

Really enjoyed it in the cinema and have enjoyed it again since. Had humour, great action scenes (the chase through the underground, while not action-packed, was brilliant) and a great villain. Very disappointed to hear the other day that Mendes won't be back for another one, but still have high hopes for Bond 24!

  3. Ridiculous. Caution is for pussies. You're picking our hard games presuming arsenal will win all of theirs.

It's the easiest thing in the world to play the negative card and still be delighted when its positive and be able to say "I told you so", everyone does it, particularly in this hideously cyclical country. I hope our players don't have the attitude becaus there is tho thing better than positivity and confidence.

Oh shush. Important football is on ;)

  4. So in the WiiU version of this thread Seribi has posted some leaked screens that show off some of the gameplay elements, plus a shorts video about Edward Kenway, the main character.

This is the problem with having two threads for the same game. It's silly!

  5. I think the most important thing to consider is the number of options developers now have. They have the standard controller, but now they also have options to use the touch pad if they wish, or the camera if they have an idea of how to use it well. They won't be used in every game, I'm sure, but the options are there. It might look like they 'lack focus' right now, but I actually see this as a huge positive point. They're giving developers a number of new options if they wish to use them. In a couple of years we might look back and say 'well, the camera thing never really took off', but that's fine, it will just mean that developers couldn't think of a good way to use it. At least they had the option there if they had wanted it. Of course, we might be saying 'we use the camera and touchpad in literally every game, how did we ever game without them?'

For me, the most important point is that Sony is providing developers with choices. As long as the new features are of a high enough quality (touch pad is responsive, camera isn't shit) then I don't think it's a negative point at all.

  6. Looks like there'll be three main towns/cities - Havana, Nassau and Kingston. It also looks like Cube might be explorable, but it's freaking massive so maybe not. I expect they'll bring in some of the frontier/wildlife elements so you can transition from the towns/ports and head into the Cuban forests/jungles.

I have to say, after seeing the map and cover art, I'm much more excited about this. Looking forward to a full reveal on monday - apparently they had an event announcing it yesterday, but all the information is embargoed until monday.

  8. Sorry but I don't agree in this particular case that directing the team would be better than an early end to Cube, if one of the team was Mafia.

Cube was an alignment investigator - at the end of the day like you said, you're free to submit your own targets so the Mafia would have had had no control who he decided to investigate.

I simply don't believe for a second that if you knew your teammate was a cop that you would leave him alive. Sure you can try convince your team to make a kill but chances are they won't bite for a while since you need some time before they'll risk using that.

No, far safer than the potential gain of them killing one townie some point in the game is to remove the cop straight away. Cube got me on N2 so that would pretty much negate any town kill they could have made later. Also Tales being alive was useful to Mafia as he was a target for control, so making all the team lose their powers wasn't completely beneficial.

Cool. Let's agree to disagree :)

  9. I think you're kind of missing the point about the team trusting each other.

You've suggested that the best system if there had been a traitor would've been to kill the other members. In fact, a much better system would be for the mafia mole to direct them away from his team mates, gather information and share it with the mafia, and then convince them to use the killing power to get rid of someone innocent. They would all lose their powers and pose no threat to the mafia at all, and seeing as they probably wouldn't be able to talk any more, they would likely be trusting of the other two for the rest of the game (as long as the mole planted the killing idea gently enough).

I've literally played the role before. I've been a mafia mole in a townie group, AND I've been in a townie group which contained a mole, AND I've been in a townie group which (it turned out) didn't contain a mole, but I sure as hell didn't trust my team mate. In fact, while posting one thing in the forum, I actually PMd the GM to send a different target because I didn't trust my teammates.

Basically, I'm suggesting two things. First, that the townie group shouldn't have assumed that their team mates were also townie, regardless of whether their powers were posted in a thread by Peeps. Second, that if the mafia had a mole inside a townie group, killing the other members of that group not only loses the mafia a huge tactical opportunity, it also means the mafia would waste a night removing protection. Had that been the case (and I know it wasn't so this is all irrelevant), killing Cube night 1 would've been a terrible decision, even if the mafia knew he was an alignment investigator!

  10. Erm... I meant goals AND assists... :)

I actually just worked out the same thing for the top ten clubs in the league (can't be arsed to do the rest!).

The only other team that has a single player scoring a higher percentage of their goals is... you guessed it! Liverpool.

The percentage thing, from what I can tell, goes something like

    Suarez 35.7%

    Bale 30.6%

    Van Persie ~25%

Michu and Walcott are close to 20%, which I think is next closest.

I did this only for my own interest, because I do think it's quite an interesting statistic (I haven't really seen it mentioned widely before), but thought I'd share my findings.

  11. I enjoyed the game too, despite not being involved as much as I would've liked. I only protected myself twice I believe, the first night because I didn't know who to trust (nothing had come out of the day phase) and last night because I thought I'd be a prime mafia target. I protected Cube a few times, as I thought he might've been bluffing about losing his powers and didn't want him to be killed. Sadly it didn't make much difference.

Still, good game Peeps! It may have been slightly overpowered, but the fact that the mafia were confident enough to go for a lynch train suggests they thought they had it wrapped up, so maybe it wasn't as unbalanced as it appears at the end.

  12. I was untargetable because I targeted myself. Why were you trying to redirect me again? I targeted myself partly because I'm the only player 'confirmed' as good by Cube (so I'm a good mafia target) and partly because I didn't want you to redirect me to be killed :p

  13. What the hell is this 'town militia' that we keep hearing about? Is there a group of townies working together? And if so, are they going to steal the win? Do we have to lynch them as well? Basically, unless I'm reading things wrong, it sounds a bit suspicious. It might just referring to the town as a whole but I doubt it seeing as the write-up refers to the rest of the town. So who are the militia and what are their goals?

Oh, and I also wasn't redirected last night, if it helps.

  14. I have my iPhone 5 on o2 for sale, reason for selling is because I've decided to go android (gasp!). The handset is only a few days old as I got it replaced at my local Apple store as my old unit has a faulty home button. So the phone you're getting has no marks on at all and a nice new battery.

The phone comes with everything you would get new, Ear pods, box etc.I'll also throw in 2 Water field sleeves I got shipped in from America.

    http://www.sfbags.com/products/iphone-cases/suedejacket-iphone.php

I'm asking £495 which is a steal considering buying it all new would be well over £700.

Any questions just let me know.

Out of interest, what size is the iPhone (GBs, I mean) and what colour?

  15. Sorry guys, I've been in London for the last few days and only ave 3G access on my phone. I've been trying to follow bit not had much time or ability to post. Apologies to everyone, but I'll be back this evening so will be able to pick it up again then. I know people hate things like this but it wasn't my intention to be inactive - I thought I'd have Wifi for my laptop but I don't. Also sorry to post at night but thought I should explain myself!
