Do you mean PC games? If so then I don't really play PC games.Yeah he does, you can't really take screen dumps on console games.
-
Mine did too, I just downloaded it from file planet instead.
Also - can anyone download the burning crusade videos from the official site? They are also supposed to download using the blizzard downloader but mine says that my firewall is causing the problem when I know that it isn't as it used to work!
-
He means the motherboard, I don't have any experience with SATA drives, but it sounds like you are on the right track with the jumper settings. Also someone said about installing the drivers first (before windows), I noticed that when you run the windows boot disk it gives you the option of install a 3rd party sata driver, you just have to press a key to do it.

I could probably supply some, I have loads lying around at home and at work.
I would refer to them as 'blanking plates'.

i hate to argue with you jordan, but that came strait from Microsoft, when i was having validating problems...Me too Jordan, but look:

EDIT - Infact, screw that, you want this:

Hmm fanboys. A sad sad topic.Nintendo ones are die-hard though :p
Quoted for truth.
I read an article once, it was in a newspaper, something like the times or telegraph (a respectable newspaper anyway). And they made a comment about how Nintendo 'fanboys' are the most loyal, and as much as I hate fanboyism, I'd have to agree, the arguing aside, Nintendo fanboys are fanboys for life.
Edit - Playing = Believing :P

Edit by Jordan:
Again, illegal. >_>

Its shit.Oh yeah - it was the nice colours and transparacies. It also ran my laptop's CPU at 70-90%.
Weird, I'm running it now and its using about 2-3% cpu.
-
it says its not available on the site anymore:(Get it here:
And for anyone that's interested, IE 7 Beta 2 for XP SP2:
-
Those of you still on SP1 should seriously consider moving to SP2, there are soooo many nasties that need to be fixed, someone is probably buying stuff on your credit cards as we speak.

I'm sure I saw this in a film. One of the Bond films maybe. It's pointless to try opening a door until the car is filled with water because of the water pressure. Once the car is filled, it should be easy to open.
I was going to say the same thing! My car has electric windows so I dobut I could open them underwater, however, I would wait for the pressure to equalize and then open the door and swim to the top!
i would drive along the bottom of the lake/pool/whatever untill i find an air bubble like the ones you find on sonic ^_^Actaully, this sounds like the best idea yet, if you get stuck underwater in a car, do this!
i ave a convertible so can just go up hehe :PNote to all convertible drivers - carry a sharp object in the car incase of emergecy escape, you can just cut the roof open!

When you call people 'boffs' they are less likely to want to help. There are plenty of people here who know what they are talking about but like JonSt said all the recommend me a pc plix thnkzz p0rn threads are just annoying.

Baten Kaitos, just poo, I hate playing cards in real life. Granted it looks nice, but I never played it far enough to make the most of it.
Nintendogs, fun for 5 minutes.
I'm sure there are others but I can't think of them right now, if you go back another generation I could list loads like:
Turok 2 - Worst fog ever, far too long between save points.
Whoever said Glover - that game was awesome but soooo hard!

Totally true, the play and charge kit only gives power to the 360 wireless pad. It still sends its signal via wireless. You have to have a wired pad (like I do) or the Windows Wireless Multimedia Adapter, coming out in the Autumn.
Ok thanks. Looks like I'll be chopping up an old xbox pad then, seems pretty simple:

I like the matching avatar and sig, although I don't know the subject, I guess it's someone famous? Nice use of colour and text and the sig is not too big. I would probably be able to give a better response if I knew what it was about, maybe you could enlighten me? For now 7/10
-
I just got the play and charge kit as I wanted to use my 360 controller on my pc, but it seems that you can't do it. You apparently have to have a wired controller, does anybody know if this is true?

How does this one grab ye?http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=345218
I would buy that instead of the Maxtor for sure!
What does your chkdsk solution involve?
You boot into your Windows XP CD, then select to install Windows, but it tells you that it is already installed and gives you the option to run a repair on it. This is different to the repair console options, it fix's things like the MBR (master boot record) and important stuff like that. From my experience it has about an 80% of fixing problems that you might think need a re-format.
I would expect that to fix your eternal loop problem.
EDIT - Also make sure you have this checked (right click start bar), should fix your media player problem:
-
Do you have to have a finished save file on your computer to play this? When I reformatted my hard drive last I forgot to back up my game saves, d'oh!
-
Any of the silver coin challenges in DKR N64 on mirror mode, ZOMG!
Right now I'm stuck on King Boo in Super Princess Peach but I'll get there.
Also, I never finished the lass boss in Golden Sun, too hard. Or the last boss in FFX, theres loads more coming to mind.... ha I just realised I think I'm rubbish at games!

I'm not surprised you are having problems with a WD, I use them at home and they are great, but at work we have lots of problems with them. I have always used the caviar range though. I would probably avoid Maxter drives, go for Seagate or another WD from the Caviar range. Have another look at sizes too, you can probably get another 100Gb for £5.
You have a well spec'd machine, how many RAM slots have you got? 4? Another gig of RAM would be ok, but I wouldn't have thought necessary.
I can't advise on a graphics card, I still use a 9800 pro, but all I do on my computer is play WoW.
If you get that chkdsk error again, give me a shout, I know a solution that will probably fix it (sadly not prevent it).

Now hating Limp Bizkit or Linkin Park, THAT is cool. Which is obviously the reason I hate them, ahem.
Ha, whatever, I happened to like Limp Bizkit, I'm quite aware that I am just about the only one on the planet that does, but I'm more than prepared to stand up and tell people like you where to stick it when they are being just plain rude.
Fake sound was definately better, but I liked some of the songs on their 2nd album.

Like everyone else said. Depends on the game. Examples:
Animal Crossing: I would say having the biggest house all paid off and doing all the extra things that require money (getting the model of the shop from having savings etc) until you get to a point where you have nothing to spend money on.
I would say I have completed a game when I see the credits, but if I enjoyed it, I would 100% it.

Gosh, do you people not remember the time when the PS2 was the cheapest DVD player around?? It turned out not being able to play anything properly. That is why it was the cheapest DVD player around....

...problem is, I don't know an awful lot about Raids. I know different set ups do things in dfferent ways but thats all. If I say what I want, maybe you could recommend a way of doing it?
I need good data integrity. Therefore if a disk goes down I don't want to loose any data. (therefore I think im correct in thinking it needs to be RAID 5?)
It needs to be fast, ideally I want to use it for data storage when editing videos and backing up my dvd's, but I'm going to want to stream it across a network.
That's about all, unless anyone thinks I have missed something?
