  1. Out of interest anyone watch that Rick stein show were he cooked for the ambassdor of Japan?, was quite interesting.

That was what prompted the thread actually. Watching him talk about how great it was for an hour made me want to try it.

  2. I saw a program on TV last night about Sushi. I was only watching it because the guy was in Japan, but I watched it through to the end and it got me thinking.

I hate fish (mostly) but the program, watching everyone eating Sushi and enjoying it, made me wonder, and now I want to try it, but from what he said, the best stuff is in Japan because it is so fresh, which is how it is supposed to be.

Have you ever had it, where from and did you like it?

  3. I have GC version as I don't have a wii yet but have played lots on my friends wii and I don't mind which version I play. They are like 2 different games as they are mirrored and it is very confusing but when I get a wii I will definately get Zelda again!

  4. You have to buy 3 other things or you can't have your pre-ordered Wii. Thats outrageous!!!

    I agree, that is terrible.

I'm gonna tell you about my most recent gripe with game. They recently stopped their 10 days return policy, (not that I ever used it). However, if I have 2 options, the first, I can go to game in town, pay £40-50 for a new release but return it if I hate it. Or second, get that same game on the internet, the same day (if not the day before) for £30-40, but I can't return it, there is a 5050 chance I will buy it from game.

However, take the same situation, now remove the option to return a game to game if I hate it, now the chances of me buying a game from game is zero.

GG game, throw away the small amount of customers you have - my guess is the 10 day returns will be back in 3 months time!

  5. I think all the stuff in the papers and the news about broken TV's and broken noses is all just a very clever marketing ploy by Nintendo! It's all about hype and this stuff alone is doing the job.

Also, whilst I'm on the subject of marketing, I saw a TV advert the other day, the only one I have seen (I don't watch much TV) and it made me all tingly inside. People will definately want to know more after seeing that advert!

  6. I hate this so much. When you go into a shop and not only do they charge you too much, but then they have the cheek to say, 'go look on ebay' it is so unprofessional. FFS, I don't even know why it annoys me so much, but it does.

I used to work for GAME, I left about a year and a half ago, I was a loyal member of staff for three years and wouldn't have a bad word said about them, but that was in the days when they were all about customer service and not all about profit. I can't stand game now, for so many reasons, but I wont go into it now, pm me if you are interested.

  7. Bias could follow with these votes, people will be voting based on experiences of being "primarily based" in the General Chit Chat Discussion yet in other threads such as the Wii Thread or even the News Thread, there could've been legitimately BETTER choices for votes...

Yeah, for example, I hardly ever go into the Wii board, but always read the general chat board. Also, I can't help but feel that some people don't know who to vote for something, they just copy everyone else...just my opinion tho, anyway, I'll edit this as and when I decide on my votes *(subject to change):

Last exam is on the 15th, that means...if I can get a copy....Zelda for Meeeeeeeeeee:grin:

EDIT - Ok, you're not winding me up...I'm gettin in the car and going to the shops to pre-order it now!!

LOL - you should have seen me jumping around the room! >.<

  9. Yeah, I know what you mean I prefer the comments to be on the page rather than in a seperate area in a thread, what would be great is if I could have a comments section that was linked so that people can use their message board user name, its only a mysql db so it must be possible.

  10. I'm not sure if they are related I think the news board used to be but on the home page you can comment on articles, I assume this is somehow linked into the database for the forum?

I use phpBB on my website and I want to know how to make it possible for people to comment on articles posted, can this be done with a mod or some code or something? I have looked here but couldn't see anything.

  11. I'm 22, been here since I was 17 I think, Johelian pointed me here, I have to say that of the regulars (Jordan/Dabooker etc) I think I have noticed a change in post 'maturity' to some degree (not always tho :P).
