live in a pal region and am buying localy I'm goin to woolies when they do a pre order, game and gamestation like every other store don't know how many they're gettin, so they could take 500 pre orders at my local store and only get alocated 300 wii's woolworths won't pre order until they know how many they're getting, plus they won't try to rip u off like game and gamestation/game did with the 360 launch - what a mess that turned out to be lol

US/JAP get 30 we get 15 and no MSX nor PC engine stuff, unless u have or played these consoles you won't realise what a shitload of classic games we miss out on. Not to mention the JAP/US only NES,SNES +N64 games we won't get either it should all be region free so anyone can download any game from anywhere but as usual nintendo love to mess things up roll on the piss poor UK ad campaign

I was speaking to my bro yesterday (ohio) and he said theres a rumour going about, about the european VC games. He said apparently why there is only 15 games on launch for europe is because not only are the games region locked but nintendo has decided that only the consoles released in your country will u see the VC games for. Simply this means if you live in the US/JAP your fine but yet again nintendo has thrown another shovel of shit on the euorpean's, as the MSX and PC Engine did'nt hit their shores it means only NES, SNES and N64 games will be availible, So not only are we paying more than the rest of the world, we wait longer as usual (and sometimes don't even get the games!) and now we miss out on a potentially huge back catalog of excellent games. I suppose the only way around it is to import a US/JAP machine as I asume the only way they can regional lock the games and terrorties is via a regristration scheme like the PSP. I'm not sure wether this is old news to u lot but as an american living in the UK this is a big shiny nintendo boot in my bollox lol Anyway I looked on the officail wii sites and the rumor seems to be truth - bummer

yeh nintendo do some stupid things, the potential of the VC is HUGE but limitting what we can have has already spoilt it, now all they have to do is not allow any of the classics from all the formats onto the VC and it will be a disaster! its alright us listing what we want but I fear we won't see it, for example if you wanted gunstar heros on the megadrive, altho sega owns the console surely its down to the developer (treasure) if it goes onto the VC?

They need to get pods in the shops now! people need to see it! nintendo are in a good place but i fear their useless marketing sector will ruin it again!

I forgot to add pilotwings to my snes list as for n64 games personally I would'nt bother, I have a vast collection and altho I still play the zelda's the n64 games hav'nt aged well at all, most look/play/move really bad, but 2D never ages (16bit onwards I mean)

I can't imagine this being true, It have spread to websites all over the world like wild fire, some post on a forum does'nt convince me and either way if it was true, when sunshines thru my window I can't see the tv so I have to shut the blinds anyway lol not to mention in the UK the sun only appears for a week per year lol

What games top the list of the games you'd like to see on the virtua console? My list would be huge so heres my fave wanna'sees lol Snes: Zelda Mario Kart Mario World Yoshi's Island F-Zero Starwing Zombies Megadrive: Gunstar Heros Dynamite Heady Streets Of Rage This is a very small selection, theres way more I'd want to see not to mention all the other consoles....but I hav'nt got all day lol What about you?

I've think this years pre ps3 comments from sony have been very comical, its funny the way each of their divisions disgrees or completly contradicts the other. Firstly was the arrogant rant about sony not caring about competition, thinking the playstation brand alone will sell the ps3 *cough* psx anyone? *cough* Then we seen what the ps3 can really do....and altho powerful its not quiet the beast originally claimed...suprised they did'nt show the final fantasy movie from the cinema again LMAO ah yes then there was the pad, they could'nt put rumble and the 6 axis in the same pad, it was too exspensive, it could'nt be done..... then a 3rd party did it for penny's lol - nothing to do with the fact they got sued for ripping of the rumble in the first place ofcourse........ Last but not least the recent statment announcing history shows that consumers in europe don't mind delays and having to wait for games etc ?? er....okay, they've got a point tho, I mean I was born in the USA but live in the UK and sure I don't mind waiting till hell freezers over before I buy a PS3 Anyone got anymore tidbits?

its so sad when the majority of consumers are obsessed with polygon counts, no wonder EA tops the charts with its boring yearly updates and 90% of ps2 games are glitter covered turds if the wii is 3 times more powerful than the cube then I'm happy, call me old skool but i prefere gameplay over shiny bonnets and geek porn (DOA: beach volley ball) if the wii can produce 3 times that of F-Zero GX then I'm more the happy and i don't give a rats ass if it aint got HD bollox in it, what makes people think I want to spend £1k on another tv lol laugh on sony fanboys but i'll have the last laugh wen yer machine dies 3 days after the warreny for the 4th time, see how good poo-ray is then muhahahaha

I wondered about this myself, but knowing nintendo and that they still sell snes games on ther GBA for £30 I think the fact the wii is meant to be connected to the net constantly would mean we don't own the rom but access it, once we paid with our points then the rom is availible to play on the channel but if you disconect the wii then u can't play the games, this would stop piracy. either way I seriously doubt we'll be able to copy the games for other people or to other devices

I don't suppose any of you guys could link me to some good uk based sites selling retro stuff? I've been collecting for years, at the mo I'm looking for Nintendo and Sega stuff - snes games, saturn games MD games etc plus consoles. But the more varied the site the better as I have tons of consoles. Getting sick of being glued to ebay hoping I'm gonna win the auction lol Thanx Daz

I doubt it tbh, nintendo are known for being a bit pricey, they have and can keep knocking these old roms out on the gba for £30 a pop and still sell em, the prices of the points got me by suprise - essentially its £14 for 2 snes games, many like f-zero fit on a floppy and can be downloaded anywhere for emu's not to mention the age of these games. never the less as an collecter I'll be downloding so I can preserve my beloved snes collection lol

like moria said its the senor bar not the screen, altho chooing channels could be a pain on a portable lol then a again I put hundreds of hours in house the dead on the DC on my portable lol btw u don't aim at the bar, it picks up your movement lol its not like a remote on a tv yer know! lol so the smaller the bar the better for comestics alone

definatly true but always is the case then a consoles games become graphicly superior then the end of the consoles life is close, with the cube and the likes f-zero and resi 4 it was such a shame the console died prematurly, these games showed how much potential the cube had in it. I find it ironic how developers spen 5 years leaning a console and jus as they get to grips with it its time for the next generation, what a waste

People should be wary, firstly its always a 1st come 1st serve, 2nd nintendo hav'nt gave anyone any figures so it could be that your local Game for example get 500 wii's but 1000 people pre order, that would me 500 peeps are waiting for nothing assuming theres goin to be a rush. and last but not least we all know how game and gamestation like to force things on to you, if the wii is a sell out then expect to pay alot more for your pre order - unwanted games and accesories bundled in - remember the 360 personally I'm waiting for woolies, there customer service told me when nintendo give them (and everyone else) the numbers then they allow pre orders to the amount they're allocated so u definatly will get a wii if they let u pre-order at the till, and no crappy bundles either like game etc the 360 launch was a joke lol
