  1. Fallout: New Vegas

It's the most confusing game ever if you go by the written rules. What I did was search Youtube on guides to playing it, the majority not making things simple enough I felt. After watching about 5 different ones I got the jist of what to do. You start with two sets of cards lined horizontally, on top and one below. Here you choose what cards are going to be in your deck, i'm not sure what the maximum is but I like to have 1 or 2 of each number. You then go on to playing Caravan. The basic aim is you have to set up 3 stacks of cards and make sure all of them reach a total of 26 BEFORE the computer player has. This isn't the only way to win however, the rules say that the area to aim for is numbers between 21-26. So say you have higher numbers than the computers in those stacks and they're in that range you'll win whether you have 26 or not. Specialist cards (Jack, Queen, King, Joker) have no numeric value. They infact alter either your stack or the computer players stack. A King (I think, not sure) multiplies by 2 whatever card you place it by. So say you have a 10 and a 6, put the King TO THE SIDE of the 10 making it 26. Building a stack in itself is quite complicated too. You have to go up or down in numeric order from whatever card you started with. So for example you start with a 2, you can place cards higher or lower than that although obviously you'd want to go higher. Once you've started down one route you can't change it unless you use one of the specialist cards (I think a Jack, maybe Queen lol) to reverse the order. So it could go 2-6-9-Jack-4-2. I'm not to sure but I think all the specialist cards can be used on the computer players stack to trip them up. Say if one of their stacks is at 26 you can add a King to any of their cards which will make it over 26. If this happens they lose their stack and have to start again. Another tactic I like using is placing the reverse order card on them so they're forced to go over 26 lol. Also regarding building stacks I think you can do them by suit as well but I didn't really look into it, whether you'd ONLY be able to build a stack with that suit and the numbers are irrelevant I don't know. Like I said it's really complicated when you first look at it but it's not at all when you get the hang of it. Once you have you can use tactics which is where the very first part of choosing what cards are in your deck comes in handy. You might want to choose a lot of specialist cards as they're quite handy, and start stacks with lower numbers. I usually start stacks with 7 or 8. Start with numbers too high and you might overshoot 26, too low and the computer might get there before you. The cards you get given are a random choice of what's in your deck so just because you chose all Kings, 10's and 6's doesn't mean you'll get them in the order you want. You could end up with 3 10's and get screwed. I hope this helps as I found it very hard to understand at first too but it's a stupidly easy way to get caps. Play the woman in Mojave Outpost she's behind the desk. She has a shit load of caps and is crap at the game lol. I think I won at least 6000 off of her.
  2. Portal 2

Agreed. He seems to be the new 'fad' at the moment. Rather not have him all over my Portal game.
  3. Fallout: New Vegas

I want to be that guy. Cazadors f*ck me off.
  4. Fallout: New Vegas

Just recently got back into this again. Gave it a bit of a break after I got to the strip. The amount of quests is, overwhelming, to say the least. Near enough any person you can talk to gives you a damn quest or is involved in one. It's good that they've packed a lot of variety in but I can't keep up. I must have at least 10 outstanding quests. As far as the main adventure goes i've...
  5. Fallout: New Vegas

The only glitches i've had so far are occasional black line across the middle of the screen when aiming without a weapon (really weird one that), some characters getting stuck in scenery and the game not telling what location i've just found or quest i've updated (the XP still shows up). In comparison to Fallout 3 it's not that bad, that game had it's fair share of bugs and in fact I had that freeze on me a few times whereas Vegas hasn't once.
  6. Fallout: New Vegas

Yeh this has bugged me on occasion and have since stopped investigating if it's by/on a road because it's probably a crow. What i'm really enjoying is how much more your sneak skill seems to count for in this game. I've one-hit sniped so many threats it's awesome. Really hope the 'Grim Reaper' perk is in this.
  7. Fallout: New Vegas

I haven't even attempted the quarry to be honest. I've finally made it to The Strip! After 20 hours . I could have easily looked around a lot more and done a few more quests but I figure that's where the game truly 'starts' so best to check it out. Judging by how you get in I think those 20 hours have gone in pretty useful.
  8. Homage to the old C-E members

LOL I remember that song! Nice to see some old crowd from way back then. Who remembers the Geoffery prank to miss off the Mods (mainly Jordon), or Zeikfred, or dare I say it Offerman?
  9. Fallout: New Vegas

    Has anyone found that...
  10. Evidence of time travel!

Maybe he/she is talking to try and hear his/her own voice.
  11. Evidence of time travel!

Did they send the phone masts back in time as well?
  12. Fallout: New Vegas

This. I also would point out that you shouldn't underestimate Radiation. I skimmed over tons of Radaways and am paying for it now. 100 caps to heal it, fack off! Lucky I won like 7000 caps playing Caravan but it's still a bloody rip off.
  13. Fallout: New Vegas

I was like this at about Levels 5 or 6. I just kept poking a bit further in some directions, finding the odd place. Killing the odd group and eventually levelling up enough to take on harder enemies. Put a crap load of points into my Guns skill, helped quite a bit.
  14. Fallout: New Vegas

Fock. That. I found the Caravan Shotgun, the very one I was meant to have got with my pre-order. I must say Companions seem to have seen quite an overhaul in this game. Just found 2, they are VERY helpful. Was tempted to up the difficulty but....no not after hearing stories like the ones above
  15. Fallout: New Vegas

    Certain enemies i've come upon so far that are at my current level unbeatable;
  16. Fallout: New Vegas

Anyone else playing Caravan with people? I've racked up 6500 caps probably more than I ever had in Fallout 3. Something I have noticed is that everytime I try to go exploring off the beaten track I get mauled by something I can't beat yet. There's a serious lack of decent Armor around as well.
  17. Fallout: New Vegas

I did wonder myself but figured that at level 3 too. Only bug i've had is that randomly I get a black line across the screen sometimes when I zoom without a weapon. Someone suggested it's my video card but it seems a bit weird why it only happens when i'm unarmed.
  18. Fallout: New Vegas

    If you didn't like Fallout 3 you probably wouldn't like this...I don't get it. Anyway as for the game, i've pushed through the 'barrier' as I call it where I can actually kill things and explore with confidence. I guess Fallout 3 vets kinda get where i'm coming from, there's always a place or a point early on where you start actually being able to kill things get item hoards, etc. For the 3rd game it was Super Duper Mart for me. Although;
  19. Fallout: New Vegas

    More money than sense?
  20. Fallout: New Vegas

For some reason if I zoom without a weapon I get a black line across the screen, anyone else get this?
  21. Fallout: New Vegas

I'm liking it so far. I think what's impressed me most (this probably applies to Hardcore mode more than anything) is the fact that food, drink, materials etc all have an actual purpose. Whether it's base items for a recipe or a gun it all has a part to play. Even scrap metal can be broken down for ammo. I must have walked past so scrap in Fallout 3 and gave it no further attention. Definitely recommend this mode for Fallout 3 vets. Still no word on my pre-order bonus
  22. Fallout: New Vegas

How do I get the pre order bonus I got with Play.com? Didn't get a code with my game or anything...
