  1. Overwatch

Wait, how did you watch me play? Is there some feature I'm missing?
  2. Football Season 2015/16

As a supporter of a League Two team (playing in League One next season!), I'm for the idea in principle but do have a few concerns on how it will be implemented and supported. The largest benefit would be to alleviate fixture congestion. Oxford United played 60 matches this season, by virtue of doing well in Cup competitions. Often meant we were playing every Saturday and every Tuesday, and I believe it really affected our form around February and March. We were lucky that we didn't have any major injuries during this period. Obviously a big concern is that fewer fixtures mean fewer matchdays for clubs to earn revenue from (although you would expect average attendances to be higher as there would be fewer midweek games, aggregate attendance over the season would still be lower I imagine). Football League clubs would need some kind of guarantee that this shake-up would galvanise interest in the divisions, rather than further marginalise the clubs that would inevitably be put in "League Three". On a side note, I hope they address the bottleneck between League Two and the Conference in terms of promotion/relegation. Conference has really become an unbalance league with so many former FL clubs queuing up for only 2 promotion spots. Should really be 3 up and 3 down. Would also love play-offs to be scrapped in all leagues, but I don't see that happening.
  3. Sorry, I've been meaning to get things moving again. I think if there are no major objections in the next day or so, we will need to lock in 13th August as the date. Realise that it's not perfect, but we need to set the date for people to book travel and time off work.
  4. MadDog has passed away

Rest in peace MadDog. He has been a member on the forums for 9 years and I don't remember anyone having a bad word to say about him. His presence has made this community a better place and for him to be tragically taken at such a young age is devastating. He will be sadly missed. My condolences to his friends and family. Also, thank you to Ashley for the touching post and for getting in touch with his family. I speak for everyone here when I say for your efforts are much appreciated.
  5. Game of Thrones

This was a good episode brought down by some really bad sections. I didn't think they could make the Dorne plot any worse, but they somehow succeeded in doubling down the awfulness. Here's hoping the dragons come to Dorne at some point, eat the Sand Snakes and burn the whole place to the ground. The happenings at the Wall were very good though. Liked the ending especially, nice to see a popular fan theory confirmed and done in a way that really adds depth to the character.
  6. Destiny

I'm about to have dinner now, but will be back on for 8.
  7. Destiny

I'm around tonight! Up for anything.
  8. For the people who said they could/couldn't attend 30th July in the thread, would you be able to make 13th August? Additionally those of you who put red in the spreadsheet for certain dates, could you just confirm how flexible you are? Because at the moment it looks like there's no "perfect" date for everyone who wants to come. I'd rather not have the meet moved to a date where people who want to come miss out if we can help it. To confirm, I'm more than up for hosting people again this year. Last year it all very much unplanned and spontaneous, but I thought it was a lot of fun having everyone over and would definitely be up for doing it again (up to a certain person limit of course). Not really ready to discuss any details now so please don't send me any requests just yet, just bear in mind that certain people will get preference depending on where they are travelling from (since London Travel and Accommodation is a tad on the expensive side).
  9. It would be good to get the date finalised soon to give people enough notice in case people want to book travel or book time off work (I'll be looking to take the Friday off so I'm in no rush to get home early). 30th July is looking to be the date, but it would be good to hear from people who attended last year. @Dannyboy\-the\-Dane @dwarf gourami @Marcamillian @The Bard @Anyone I may have missed I think if we don't hear from anyone by next week then we will go ahead with 30th July.
  10. Could Pokémon work on a home console?

In answer to the original question, yes of course Pokemon could work on a home console. There is so much untapped potential... if I were Nintendo I would assemble a massive team and spend a good few years making it a reality. A big-budget title on a similar scale as say Xenoblade Chronicles could well be Nintendo's new 'killer app'. It is really puzzling that, given Pokemon's string of successes on handhelds, that there has not been a serious attempt by Nintendo to replicate that success on a home console.
  11. If they were to offer a similar service to that of Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus, as well as implementing properly thought-out online multiplayer in their games, then yes I would. Ultimately it would depend on what games I would want to play online and whether or not I would justify paying a subscription for that game. I cancelled my Xbox Live subscription when I stopped playing Halo. What games would Nintendo offer that would give me a fantastic online experience akin to Halo? Perhaps an online Pokemon RPG?
  12. The Value of a Game

I've been playing through The Witness and I'm still not sure what to make of the price point. I feel like a lot of what makes it £30 as opposed to £10-15 is the graphics, which are beautiful, but I can't help thinking that they could have released the game at a cheaper price if they had made the graphics "simpler". I realise that would have taken a lot away from the overall experience, but since it's such a niche game they may have hurt themselves from a sales perspective.
  13. Resident Evil 4, 5, 6 (PS4/One)

Resi 5 was good, but you had to have a friend to play it with. I remember the AI for you partner being terrible to the point of being more of a hindrance. Any excuse to play through 4 again though! An all time classic.
  14. Destiny

@Shorty, that Titan smash was majestic. Like an Olympic diver. I've uploaded a lot of clips to Youtube so you can find my Rocket clips there.
  15. bad stuff thread.

    Was it like this?
  16. Destiny

Some highlights from Trials this weekend... This team thought they were easily going to win the round by capturing the zone. The lesson here is not to dance until the final whistle: Also managed to snag a few kills with Truth. Tried to synchronise them in the form of gifs!
  17. bad stuff thread.

MadDog, I am completely lost for words. I'm so sorry, I can't imagine what you must be going through right now. You're an incredibly strong person. I know we never met outside of the forums but it's been great getting to know you over the years. I have fond memories of playing Mafia and Xpert with you; I still remember that you were the only person to stick up for me in the Red and Blue mafia when I was innocent, thanks for being a bro. It's been an absolute privilege to have you as part of our community. Thank you, MadDog.
  18. Destiny

We played very well though I thought. Took us a while to get used to the map, but once we did I thought our tactics were spot on. A bit of luck is all we needed for the final game, unfortunately got put against a very good team. I'm around on Wednesday, but not around Friday or Saturday. See above, not back til Sunday evening.
  19. Making a Murderer (Netflix)

Watched the first 4 episodes, utterly compelling stuff. Makes me want to study law.
  20. Destiny

Will be up for Iron Banner, missed out on all the rewards last time when PSN went down for maintenance. Yes it does! If you max out your armour and equip The Ram and the relevant chest piece you can actually survive some things that would normally kill you in one hit, such as the Titan Shoulder Charge. Also The Ram can still be used if you are using Sunsinger or Stormcaller, it's not just a Voidwalker exclusive.
  21. Destiny

Go on then, sign me up! Also wouldn't mind helping out anyone with Normal mode if needed.
  22. Destiny

I'm in the same boat as you. 6 would be a good time I think if we can everyone on?
  23. What's your internet speed like?

My parent's house has 6mb. It works perfectly fine for gaming, was also watching a lot of Netflix without too much trouble. The problems arise when you have multiple people in the house sharing the same connection. I live with 2 other nerdy people who like to stream a lot and having 100mb fibre means my online gaming is not really affected that much by other people streaming or downloading stuff. The most important aspects for gaming in my opinion are ping and reliability. I remember being 'that guy' on Destiny a year ago where my connection would be fine for hours and then just drop off the edge of a cliff. Make sure you go with a good ISP who won't throttle your connection in the middle of a raid!
  24. Would definitely be up for joining this and starting anew, if it's starting in the Summer. I have some months to come up with a new team name, as I will be retiring the Yellow Submarine brand.
  25. Destiny

Yes that's okay with me! Sorry about the no-show yesterday.
